Great song. Unfortunate production, management, promotion and hair. There's only a keyboard/synth and vocals in the song, so why are there 6 or 7 band members? 😂 I bet there's an interesting back story.

Era 1985, tenía 19 años y estaba en tercer año de la Escuela Militar de Chorrillos, Lima, Perú. Un sábado por la noche fui, con varios camaradas de la Escuela, a una fiesta en casa de uno de ellos. Había unas 30 ó 40 personas, más de la mitad eran espléndidas muchachas. Estaba conversando con mis amigos, tomando unos tragos, cuando empezó a escucharse esta canción; y, no sé por qué, dirigí mi mirada hacia un lugar del local y me encontré, de pleno y exactamente, con la mirada de una chica. Nos miramos fijamente por unos cinco segundos y ambos sonreímos. Tomé valor, me acerqué y la invité a bailar. Ahí nació un amor inmenso. Cómo nos quisimos. Me gradué de Oficial (Alférez) el 1 de enero de 1987, y fui enviado a un Fuerte Militar en el desierto del sur del Perú, a 1,200 km de Lima. Cuánto nos dolió separarnos. Cartas, telegramas, poquísimas llamadas por teléfono, lágrimas. A los pocos meses fui cambiado de colocación a la Sierra de mi país donde se luchaba una Guerra contra la guerrilla comunista. Así como el destino conspiró para que nos conociéramos, también conspiró para separarnos. Esta canción tan alegre me encanta, pero me hace sentir triste, porque recuerdo fuerte y terriblemente a Tania Del Carmen, que debió ser mi esposa y madre de mis hijas. Por eso la escucho en contadas ocasiones. "Amor que no lastima, da lástima", dicen por ahí. ¡Brindo por el amor, por la juventud, y por esta canción! ¡¡¡Salud!!!
