What in Windsurf, Cascade AI writes the code directly to your files. In Google IDX, Gemini doesn't have access to your files and will not write to them. It only makes suggestions. It's not on the level Cursor or Windsurf is. It's inferior.

Project IDX works with Cline. Go to extensions and search for Cline and add it then add your API key. You can start using a no code to create apps on project IDX

It was working very good but the last days it's doing everything wrong even the most basic programming tasks I don't know if it's Claude, but there is definitely something changed. It's not good anymore, I hope they do something about it.

@tarektarek6073 100% agree with you. Try going in free mode if your using pro, it's actually way better, still very bad tho. I was using it to save time but it makes to many random changes that don't make sense.

I was getting lots of errors using both Claude and Gpt. Using the Cascade chat instead works virtually without errors as it fixes them as it generates them

100% BS. I can't write code to save my life. I know the basics, but syntax kills me.. I'm not OCD enough to be good at it... I have written a number of highly complex apps using Ai coding assistants. Error free, fully working and up to the latest security standards. You sit at one extreme and those who think AI is a magic solution that can spit out fully working apps with a single prompt is the other extreme. To make it work for building full, complex codebases , you don't just tell it what to do, you have to provide information, very detailed and direct commands, and build the project one step at a time, debug, save progress and move on. For people like me who know how applications work, can engineer a complex system, have good concepts for useful tools, but suck at writing code, these tools are amazing. They bridge one hell of an expensive app. I haven't paid a software developer in almost 8 months now and it's fantastic!

I’ve been working with it for a few days and it’s actually awesome. I was working on a massive complex project and debugging was super easy . Although it made some unnecessary changes from time to time overall it works great. I hope it gets way better than this🔥

I recommend all of you to actually chat with Claude Sonnet 3.5 on Windsurf and ask it if its "Claude Sonnet 3.5", you'll be surprised to find out that it won't be able to tell you its identity because its a combination of Windsurf's own model and Claude Sonnet 3.5, Funny enough if you probe the same questions with the gpt-4o model it will have no problem saying its gpt-4o, Which is kinda fishy to me and might explain why Windsurf is more buggy and can run into loops of problems.

I think that when in future when they would remove their unlimited usage of sonnet, they will keep like some free request for new users like 500 or somethin seeing they offer unlimited usage at this moment and it would also help them to get new users in future too , so i don't think so they will completly remove claude model use for new users or they could just give them pro for like 14 days or somthin😕 I hope they keep some usage limit for new users

i can definitely see this happening as api costs can skyrocket quickly with sonnet 3.5. either they will raise prices or reduce token usage in some way.

Windsurf doesn't work most of the times for complex tasks in my experience. Cursor, Cline aider works fine

normally i provide alot of context information as to what problems i want it to fix like describing project behaviours and bugs. when the files are too big, i would ask it to break down and modularize the code into smaller files to be more efficient with tokens. the models will do their best to do what you tell them to, but like a human, being given more information of the problem that is to be solved improves effectiveness.
