Is the red one specifically for rifles? Or is it for handguns too?

Shoot a bit further out and it'd get more accurate, or multiple distances - bearing in mind that as your barrel fouls the bullets slow a bit.

From Vortex customer service "Hello Errold, and thank you for reaching out to Vortex Optics! When using ballistics mode the range given will provide line of sight distance in either yards or meters, however, the ballistic solution provided factors inclination into account. Hope this clears up any confusion! " So yes it does I also verified this yesterday at 1150 yards
@Verifiedlongrange
@Verifiedlongrange Жыл бұрын
I appreciate the effort you have put into finding out the truth. I wish I received the same reply from vortex though there must have been a miss understanding. As this was my reply. “It will not compensate the angle for you, but it will display the incline angle. You would then put this information into the Fury HD app.” Also my previous test at 700 meters at 15 degrees and 0 degrees should no effect on my ballistics. Thank you Errold I will retest my binos as if they do account for incline then they are still well and truly the best value for money!!

@@Verifiedlongrange thanks for pinning this. When I first read their owners manual I came to the same conclusion as you.
@errtuley

Ok so i just go home from work and pull out my 5000ab Went to the end of the street and ranged a tree at 1083 yards set the inclination to 0 manually. The correction in the display was 26.2 Then i measured the exact same tree and distance set to 20 degrees correction came out to be 24.3. The fury HD 5000 ab most definitely measures and corrects for inclination
@errtuley
@errtuley Жыл бұрын
I have to correct you on something The HD 5000 ab does take angle into account into its corrections in bal mode. However the range it displays is Los. You can use the los range and the angle then input it into your favorite ballistics solver and check to see if your dope on both align. Pro trick If you have good data already you can use your favorite ballistics app to correct instead of shooting. Just go out somewhere you can get the correct recommended ranges then range. Enter the range, angle, temp and pressure data supplied by the binos into the solver and compare the two. Then enter the correction into the fury app. Walla done without firing a shot
@Verifiedlongrange
@Verifiedlongrange Жыл бұрын
Interesting, I wonder if they have updated anything. As before publishing this video I reached out to Vortex and they confirmed you need to use an exterior ballistic app to account for angle compensation.

@@Verifiedlongrange "The slope incline number can be entered into ballistic programs or field cards to help calculate precise bullet drop in mountainous terrain. This number is automatically calculated into the wind/drop solution provided in the display and in the app. See Ballistics Manual for more information about the ballistic information displayed." From the owners manual In bal mode it doesn't correct the Los for "ballistic range" however the dope it spits out is corrected. This way you know the true range and can confirm dope with a second solver. Doc with applied ballistics confirmed this with me.
@errtuley
@errtuley Жыл бұрын
The thing that bugs me is that there is no drop chart within the app. The 4000gb has nearly an identical app but has this feature. It would be nice so you do not have to actually range things over and over to confirm your dope aligns with previous data

Can you explain how this attaches. Does it just slip over the barrel threads and is then clamped between the barrel shoulder and the muzzle brake?
@Verifiedlongrange
@Verifiedlongrange 2 жыл бұрын
Correct, it slips over the barrel thread then the self timing muzzle brake locks it onto the shoulder of your barrel
