She was a warm lady who knew how to get to people, tug at their heartstrings. Her voice and songs show it.

This song never gets old. The lyrics, his voice, musicianship, the passion. I’m the forlorn-looking blonde in the black top just behind Drew’s left shoulder. I was so drawn into the song (which is what good songs do to us). I’m forever grateful to have been there that evening.

Fantastic video - thank you! I was going to hit the like button...but I see you've hidden it under the subscribe button. I'll not be forced to subscribe - that's sneaky - I know no one cares about right and wrong anymore - but I do. If you fix it, I'll subscribe. Then I can like it too.

I worked for Showtime doing Gallagher specials. We were headquartered Wilshire and Westwood UCLA, if you have a moment look up Peter Paul and Mary on the Jack Benny show. Priceless, and they held their own against the master a double takes😮

What a dream writers-in-the-round. Hal taught me everything about phrasing and a lot about songwriting. Wish he'd been able to shake his addiction and was still here making music.

I actually met her after watching her perform this song at the Nashville Summer Lights Festival back in 1992 or 1993. I told her I liked the way she sang it better than Lorrie Morgan, who recorded it.

I was about twenty years old when this song came out. I’m 55 now. I don’t think this song was ever released too radio, but I discovered this and mote when I got the album. One day a few years ago I was in a second hand record shop,I found this C D for three dollar. I grabbed it fast. I didn’t tell the guy but i would’ve paid a lot more than that. His music made an impression on me that I’ll never forget.

Hadn't seen this before. Much of my time learning to play guitar was spent learning to play their songs. The vocal mix was amazing. Mary Travers' voice was so beautiful. I was saddened by her passing. Their music will continue to be heard for many years to come.

I sat next to her at this show and I had no idea she was a performer until she got up at the end to sing this song. I was 17, now I am 28, and it is still one of the most inspiring moments of my life. Thank you!

Hi Marc. This is Sherry Boulware. You popped up on KZbin playing this song. I wasn’t even searching for this. We were in Up With People together, and you played at my wedding back in 1977. Would love to talk and catch up.

My daughter and I have such different taste in music, but when she was in college we both discovered our mutual love of Peter, Paul and Mary! We had the most fun attending their concert together! Singing at the top of our lungs in the car! A cherished moment in time! 😊. I remember 1963 when I first heard them…they were a group that endured!
