Thank you. Perfectly simple to understand. Not twenty paragraphs of nonsense before getting to the point!

You kind of glossed over how you actually fully retracted all 4 pistons, the video skips from the pistons doing the usual whack-a-mole trick to miraculously they are all retracted. Hiw did you do that?

I've been thinking of tackling the same job but caught up in trying to decide what lube to use on the final drive splines. BMW previously recommended Optomol Paste TA but more recently have changed to Klubergrease LFT 71-402. Interestingly and despite the inclusion of "mol" in the former, neither contain molybdenum disulphide. Why did you use Optomol paste White T?? BMW have never recommended it. Conventional wisdom would seem to suggest that a moly paste is the best lube to use but strangely, BMW have never recommended it, which is puzzling

Bro, I don't understand what you're doing with the adjustments, you don't talk or explain anything in your videos. What were you doing with that piece of metal with that one thing?

Replaced my battery yesterday evening, in under an hour. This video helped me a lot in the preparations, and the job itself went without any problems. I did not loosened or removed the passenger footrest frame.

Good afternoon, congratulations on your videos. I have a r1100rt from 2000. I would like to ask for your opinion on how I could place/attach a stick for an insta 360 x3 camera. The bike has neither a radio nor an opening for an antenna. Thanks.

Will a 2001 R1100RT or a 2003 R1100RS starter motor fit a 2003 registered R1100RT?
@MrBestvirginia

Regarding the old starter: Most of the time (!) it's not really the carbon brushes being worn out. The problem with most starters is that the magnets on the inside of the housing fall off (glue doesnt stick anymore) and block the starter. This is a common problem and there are upgraded houses with the magnets if you want to do the repair yourself

Great video! I have the same year and model. I believe my driveshaft just gave out, 105,000 km, on my return from Tuktoyaktuk. I will be repeating the process as above along with a new driveshaft. Cheers!

So the fuse was out and the light did not work. You replaced the H11 unnecessarily. Or did you take the opportunity to do that because the fuse was out?

I love how everything on the TDM, from a headlight to a battery, requires some level of disassembly when on the TRX, Hornet, KTMs, whatever else is here, it's a 30 second job 😂 It's not like it's a lot of work, so no big deal, but it's at least a little irritating. Cheers for the video 👍

The red brake grease is for internal hydraulic components at assembly. "Rubber Grease" that is rubber and fluid inert. No reason to use it externally, it's not meant for that. A tiny smear of molybdenum if you are paranoid-but also not really necessary as the piston pushes-not slides- against the brake pad. You don't want anything that is lubricating near brake components. The rubber grease you use will just melt and run onto the disk then the pads.

Imagine building something so weak that it crumbles after 10 years or so because the plastic gets old. Cmon bmw! Not like headlights are important!
