An old fashioned solution : If you have access to carbon paper, place it over the fabric and use a ball point pen to trace the pattern onto the fabric.

Did you use 6 strands for the whole thing?
@gardengirlstudio8 күн бұрын
@alanasparkman I used all 6 strands for everything except for the ombre leaves. I used 3 strands for the leaves. Hope this helps!

Do you find craft felt easy to embroider on? The patterns look simple enough for a beginner. Great detailed tutorial.
@gardengirlstudio12 күн бұрын
Glad you enoyed it, @CraftyRoxx! Yes, crafting felt is very easy to embroider on. Wool felt can be tricky if you're using water soluble stabilizer (shrinkage), but in general I've had very good luck with most felt! It's thin enough to stitch through, but thick enough that I generally don't need an embroidery hoop. ☺️

This was exactly the video I needed today. I'm working on organizing my embroidery floss this week. Do you have a good supplier you can recommend? I have been buying my DMC floss locally, but they stopped carrying many colors.

Yay! I'm so glad this video landed in your feed today! I use Checker Distributers for my wholesale embroidery floss. They've been super reliable! If you're looking for retail DMC, I've used Herrschners as well!

@@gardengirlstudio Thank you for being so generous with this information! I'm looking for wholesale. I get all my other supplies wholesale, I just hadn't found a good DMC distributor. I will check out your recommendation!

DO you add a stabilizer behind design?
@gardengirlstudioАй бұрын
Great question! I did not use a stabilizer behind this embroidery. The knit hat was thick enough to provide support/prevent puckering.
@Crows-m8tАй бұрын
Love this! Do you have to pre shrink felt (even the more stiff kind) before making this?
@gardengirlstudioАй бұрын
If in doubt, I'd do a test patch to see how the felt reacts to water. If the felt has any amount of wool in it and you're planning to soak the felt water, I would pre-shrink it for sure!

I am about to order cross stitch kit and embroidery beginner kit and I know I will have thread everywhere. I never seen this level of thread stash and boy I got thread from shuttle tatting. You are a thread goddess. All that thread, I would just sit and stare at all my thread but you have so many more that is a dreamy stash, do you ever feel guilty or feel like you need to hide or give excuses for getting more thread??
@gardengirlstudioАй бұрын
Awww, you're too sweet! I figured having enough floss gives me a good excuse to work on projects! Plus, I have to keep enough inventory for the workshops I teach. So, luckily, the craft guilt is low 🥰

What is dangerous on a baby quilt???
@gardengirlstudio2 ай бұрын
Generally, blankets, pillows, or any other soft objects are not recommended for bassinet or crib use with infants due to sleep safety concerns. However, I am not a child safety expert, and guidelines are always changing. Always consult child safety experts for the most up-to-date safety information. I personally would rather not risk anything when it comes to child safety. 💕

I like to use C C Beanies, or similar. Carhartt are great for stitching too! Both have a nice tight weave, which are ideal for embroidery

The infusible inks are great! The ink seems more like fabric dye that incorporates into the shirt fibers, as opposed to vinyl or DTF transfers, which sit on top of the fabric.
