I had a steel blue 1966 Renault 10 with an electric gearbox and when that broke down it was wrecked on the motorway by a truck.

Mi padre tuvo uno igual a ese 17 años. Jamas nos dejo tirados y cuando se vendio en el año 84 el motor ronroneaba como un gatito. Magnifico coche.

J’en ai possédé une juste après mon permis en 1969 et, hasard, elle était de la même couleur. Les commentaires me font beaucoup rire. Cette voiture était un véritable cercueil roulant! Pas de freins, direction approximative etc. Par rapport à la Renault 8 elle fut un échec total pour la régie Renault.

Haven't seen one since I was about 14 years old in the mid-80's. The 10 was a moderately successful model for Renault in the US, and I do remember seeing them around as a small child. I remember quite well, for some reason, that the hubcaps were held on by a single bolt in the middle, and my 3 or 4 year old mind was fascinated with wanting to take the hubcaps off this particular car. Sometimes it's funny what we remember, I guess.

In comparison to modern, dull "clonic" cars, it´s such a delight to behold these jewels from the past, mostly when they are as gleamy as in their first days, just like this one... What a cute car indeed. Unique shapes and sounds. Take great care of it, please. My parents also had a Renault 10 (RIP decades ago...) before replacing it with a 1978 Citroën GS Pallas that is still working nowadays.
