I am really enjoying watching your Vortex FPP come together. It looks so complicated but at this point in the kit (early on with large pieces) it looks like a great starter kit with a real complicated look when you get done 🥰

@ yes, you are remembering correctly! Monday, I’m going in for a procedure to stabilize my fracture. Sadly, it is the same day that my husband’s uncle will be laid to rest! My son will be taking me to and from the hospital. My husband is a pallbearer. It’s been a rough go, his uncle was my dad’s BFF and the reason we met 36 years ago! I want to be there to pay my respects but I know he’d understand! He was like a second father to me!

How do I arrange my strips to cut the proper length and have enough. Do I pick 30 strips and cut the longest length needed first, then cut the next length needed and so on?

I hope this is my last question, can I starch the strips? I have 10 different colors in each bundle but different colors in the strips they are batiks. Some are up to inch difference in length. Also I have to quilt this on a domestic machine so I may have to make it smaller. I’m not a quilter so it would straight line quiting or maybe ruler quilting in spots.
