What about a hot pink prom dress. I know to use vinegar instead of salt but will it work

this particular dye only works with natural fibers like cotton. prom dresses are rarely cotton so make sure you double check the material type. you may need to use Rit Dyemore which is made for synthetic fabrics like polyester 😊

How do you protect an embroidered logo patch on the black polyester shirt if you don’t want to dye the logo black?

the thread of the embroidery is most likely polyester so if the shirt is polyester as well, i think the embroidery will be dyed.

in the sun you can see the camo print, but like a dark version of it. the pink parts are the ones that peeked through the most.

Just to be fair. Your bucket on the left had some purple-ish dye when you started mixing the hot water. I wonder if that’s contributed to the tinted color

I weirdly prefer both. I think it depends on preference! Like I like the left side cause I get too pale with a darker black haha but my boyfriend looks amazing in darker blacks and blue blacks

You put a regular white paper on top and put on heat press and it removes sticky residue

The salt you decided not to use (the salt in the directions) is actually something that helps set dye -- so it's kind of a shame you didn't use it for comparison. It's a lot less expensive than the bottle of fixative and it would have been interesting to see if it was enough to set the dye. 😉

@@lucykiins didn’t realize the salt wasn’t used Yes it’s a cup for 3 gallons I hardly rinse between the dye bath and the fixative and my results are great. Cuts a lot of the time and labor out. I rinse and wring out but v quickly
