Ive always felt this same way. Like ten ten was a weapon specialist like lee was a taijutsu specialist. Didnt see her at fucking all do shit. Shino with his bugs. Like we wouldnt have got shit for shikamaru if he wasnt gonna be narutos assistant in boruto. Ino could have leveled up to a point she could control an akatsuki and maybe infliltrate one of the meetings they had. Like they had so much opportunity to give more to the side characters. I mean imagine like sakura faught her own akatsuki member if the side characters all had a character mirroring them. Like a weapon specialist to fight tenten. A taijutsu one to help lee level up. One for neji even. Like remember a filler episode in naruto when lee fought a guy from another villiage who made his own form of lees gates? He was on par with lee for the most part. Like they had so many opportunities to level people up and then theyd have more to do in boruto than be in some BS fillers
