I have the following questions: Could you give indication of measures for the metal profiles and compression tubes you used? Have you (considered) isolating the PV panels mounted on the (steel? ) profiles to prevent corrosion between the aluminium framing of the panels and the mechanical support?
@m.lugert9597 Жыл бұрын
I like your mechanical installation! Reusing the existing fixation points on the roof and having the compression struds to the deck makes it very solid, simple and non-obstructive. I will adapt a similar solution for our Lagoon 39. The best this is, that your soltion requires a minimum welding job which can be done in the parts off the boat.

are the compression post 1 inch or 1 1/4 inch? I can't find the fitting that attaches the compression post to the existing stainless rail. CHeers Scott! Wish you were still making videos.

one issue, at 8:12 you need to keep the loose rope ON DECK, as with the engine running, ANY rope/line over the sturn is asking for a fouled proppellor!!- so dump the excess down one hatch, or to the cabin below (making sure FIRST that the cooker is off :-) ). this is also why sailors coil lines on winches, and when around cleats, to stop rouge ropes over the side, which can catch on things!, as well as being a trip hazzard aboard ship.

Scott, Miss the videos, but happy to hear you are still out at it. We bought a Lagoon 400 just before COVID hit and are now back on board in the Mediterranean and planning for the future. If things go according to plan (and when do they?) we hope to get to the South Pacific in the next few years. I want to upgrade our solar to a system like yours. Any tips or suggestions based on several years of experience with it? Charlie

Thanks for a very informative video! Is it possible to disconnect the compressor so it can be housed in an adjacent cupboard with just a small hole to run the condenser line through?

I have enjoyed watching your journey, are you going to continue? You were one of the channels that inspired me to buy a boat in Greece and sail it back to Australia. Thank you. I missed a lot of places due to covid but made it back last August. Boat sold now and on the look out for another one for the next adventure. Fair winds ⛵️⚓️⛵️

Been a while. Hope you guys doing fine during corona. we are sailing east coast AUS, tropics. Better than being locked in some unit in big city and looking when rioters will torch the building :) Plan to add asym spi to my collection for light winds. Actually 135m2 from incidence. On top of gennaker 76m2 and symmetric 100m2. What is your experience with spi, which one was most useful for lighter winds on ocean passages? We also have L 400 S2 #306 and plan next year AUS->fiji and then go from there.

Yes, I made it to the end because I like excentric people with a nice spleen. I do not care about what - firekillers and handlebars is just superb! It looks a bit bathroomy for my taste, but I love pragmatism. I learnt some things here - thank you.

I wonder how tall a man may be to live in her and with all that stuff you put into her, could you tell how many centimetres she sank in? The deep room at front seems a good place for waste. Too many throw over board. Thanks a lot for the showing!

I remembered you answering somebody on your interest for an air conditioner unit. I recently saw someone online installing several small - smallish units in their Lagoon. www.frigomar.com/en/products/marine-air-conditioning-systems/chiller-inverter-dc-technology-advantages.html They seemed interesting due to the small amp draw.

It is a great installation. Did you consider a slight gap between the solar panels to reduce a lift effect during strong gales?
