First thank you for this video. I woudl like to as why you put in 1000 in lock back control outlet because in physical properties trolled outler diffent?

Hi. I set the lookback flowrate to 1,000 CFS in the alternative editor because I'm using a constant 1,000 CFS inflow at Junction CP1.

First of all, thank you. I have a few questions for you. I am a graduate student and I am using Gecressim for my thesis, but I have been having problems for weeks. Can you help me?
@TimNelsonProfessional18 күн бұрын
Hi! Yes. You can post general questions here in the KZbin comments. But for specific/private question(s) you can email me at: timnelson93411[at]gmail[dot]com and then I can look into it and get back to you.

Thank you, Sir, for making a detailed video on the Soil Moisture Accounting loss model in HEC-HMS. 🙏 I am waiting for your new lesson video on HEC-HMS every day. 😇

Sir, thank you for your series on HEC-HMS. I kindly request you to explain how we can obtain the parameters for different surface methods. This will be helpful for beginners in hydrological modeling. Thanks a lot for your effort in making hydrology education accessible to everyone.
@TimNelsonProfessional27 күн бұрын
It really depends on which parameter value you're asking about. For example, some values like Date (date of the burn) is historical data. However the Initial Rate and Maximum Rate (of infiltration) could be determined through empirical testing, and are also related to the soil type and the time since the last burn. I hope that helps.

I'm facing an issue with preprocessing for SIN and drainage in HEC-HMS. The process finishes in just seconds, but when I check the map layer editor, the GIS layers are created there. Even though I follow all the steps and data provided in the HEC-HMS tutorial on their website, the GIS layer disappears when I save, close, and reopen the program. Has anyone else encountered this issue or have suggestions for troubleshooting?

What version of HEC-HMS are you using? If you want to send me the file(s) I can take a look at it. I'm at: timnelson93411[at]gmail[dot]com I can also set up a google drive if your files are too large for email.

Thank you for the amazing tutorial! May I ask if you could also talk about HEC-ResSim water quality modeling (e.g., water temperature)? Thanks.
@TimNelsonProfessional2 ай бұрын
I've read almost the entire users manual and I don't recall it mentioning water quality or temperature. These topics are covered in a other HEC programs.

@@TimNelsonProfessional Thank you for your reply. The water quality modeling is available below for your reference. KZbin does not allow me to share a link in the comment, so I have to post the link as text: "www.hec.usace.army.mil/confluence/draft/rswqum/latest"

Good find! Thanks. I've been working through the downloadable PDF users manual. I've never seen this info before - I'll take a look at it.

The "Use Water Quality" checkbox does not appear in the Watershed Data Editor dialog box, in ResSim 3.3, which is the latest publicly available version. This user's manual must be for a more recent version of ResSim. www.hec.usace.army.mil/confluence/draft/rswqum/latest/2-hec-ressim-water-quality-concepts/enable-water-quality-modeling

Thank you for the great tutorial. Would it be possible to have an example project demonstrated using HEC-Ressim? It would be great to show a step-by-step comprehensive example. 😄

[UPDATE] Here's a playlist of full-length tutorials covering different topics in ResSim: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWWbZ5uQa9iMZ7M Yes! I plan to make and post full-length tutorials. Check back later! Right now I'm creating shorter videos that only focus on one small topic at a time. Thanks for your interest.
