This is something foreseen by one of the key founder of this nation. He approach to governance is to decentralized power to the lower tiers of government reducing power from the center. He alluded to the Presidental system to ensure stability and that the president is made to account by the people. Politicians, please take heed of his wise words and the vision he has for PNG.

Everything depends upon the Constitution. If the Constitution is corrupt than the Country will be corrupt. If the Constitution is invalid than the Country is invalid. If the Constitution is just than the Country will be just. The problem in PNG is that its Constitution is both corrupt and invalid and so is the Nation.

ALL extractive industries are short term businesses that are destructive and most of the money goes overseas. Agriculture is long term and is available down to the village level.

Very informative summary of facts that most people think they must forget to preserve their sanity and maintain their lifestyle . If we chop of all the roots from the past instead of nourishing their wisdom where will we end up? Probably on Mars. Great palce for Geologists. So is PNG .

Beautifully articulated! I don't know about PNG, but in Fiji, there is a dying need of a well defined customary land management system that ensure sustainability. Lets support each other in this area. Heavy Love from Fiji Islands!

On the other hand rather, land administration should be drastically improved, especially in terms of governance, compliance and performance.
@salkimutkilangit89275 жыл бұрын
Could have at least put some true PNG instruments for the background music. On the point of land registration are you all proposing that we limit socioeconomic activity as a way forward for PNG. Come on you know that in regards to VCLR, the government encourages the registration of customary land on portions of land not seen as required in the foreseeable future. Maybe in regards to the SABLs the Moratorium should still stand indefinitely but for urban growth you all know that the population is growing and the level of socioeconomic activity is also increasing and given the phenomenon of Globalization-which are contemporary policy issues inevitably affecting all nations- see the increased demand. Not having access to more land doesn't make economic sense, so PNG would rather just go back to subsistence farming, because in the Modern world, we will not survive, so I'd rather go home and make gardens. Secondly, can you one indicate with evidence where the 40billion in value going, cause I still see rural people living poverty. How is the 40 billion being transformed into real time benefits that will alleviate the people (especially rural) from economic disability?

the vents being slated for mining are not active and do not have rich community's of life like you see on the documentaries. the 1st mining site will be smaller than similar quantity open cut land mines with 250 plus ton dump trucks and if i'm right they'll have vacuums by all 3 types cutting heads so not to loose any fine gold silver copper metals ex. they appear to have blowers or suction at all 3 machines cutting heads but in order not to loose material my theory is they will use suction
