Not bad, but I was the first to get 'ORGASMED' on Countdown. That record can never be beaten.

Another way of getting it: 9 times 7 = 63, less 1 = 62, times 5 = 310, less 2 = 308 times 3 = 924.

There are tricks that let you know factorization of the number. Perhaps Dylan used the one with 13 - 7. Multiply last number by 2 and subtract it from the first two. Or, xyz -> xy - 2z. If xy - 2z is divisible by 7, then xyz is divisible by 7 - 13. Mulpiply last number by 4 and add it to the first two. Or, xyz -> xy + 4z. If xy + 4z is divisible by 13, then xyz is divisible by 13 - 17. Similar to 7, xyz -> xy - 5z - 19. Similar to 13, xyz -> xy + 2z

Divers ways to get it. I did 9 x 8 = 72, 7 + 5 =12, then 72 x 12 = 864, then add on the 10 and take away the 3.

This took me on a journey of figuring out how to tell if a number is divisible by 7 or 11. (Divisibility by three is just adding up the digits and seeing if the sum is divisible by 3, and divisibility by four is just dividing by 2 twice.) Apparently you can test for divisibility by 7 if you multiply the last digit by 2 and subtract it from the rest of the digits, and see if that difference is divisible by 7. (So 4*2=8, 92-8=84, 84/7=12.) And you can test for divisibility by 11 by adding every other digit in the number, then add the remaining digits together, subtract one from the other, and if the difference is 0 or divisible by 11, then the original number is as well. (So (9+4)-2=11, but it works for any size of number because something something binomial.)

I got it a completely different way in about a minute. (9+3) x 7 = 84, then (5x2) + 1 = 11. 84 x 11 = 924.

There's a much easier way. 9x7x5x3 = 945 7x(2+1) = 21 945-21 = 924 so 9x5x3-2-1x7 = 924. But it's probably all the same to him lol.

Got it slightly differently: 9+2 = 11 11*7 = 77 (5-1)*3 =12 12*77 = 924 Simple route - noticing it's a multiple of 3, then 308 is even, and so is 154. Which leaves 77*12, we have 7, and so only need to make 11 and 12 from the remaining numbers, which are (9+2) and (5-1)*3, or alternatively, (9+3) and (5*2)+1. The second pair is probably more obvious to most people, my brain just saw the 11 as a sum straight away and got stuck!
