Very nice demonstration. I use simple 20-50 oil available in market . The simple mineral oil . And also wash the engine with diesel before adding new lubricant . For 2 stroke oil . I usually use simple mineral oil mixed in some mustard oil at 50 -50 ratio . I do all my servicing of my scooters and bikes myself what ever i can . I have 4 vespa scooters

"Is converting a Vespa rotary valve to an LML reed valve a good way to avoid frequent repairs while still maintaining the original look? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!"
@pmodrat14 күн бұрын
I have 3 running bikes with rotary valves P200 engines. All are high miles rebuilds that run very strong. I only would put reeds on them if the rotary went bad. Or I had only one bike. because it's expensive to do it the right way. I do have a 200 damaged case in the future I may reed kit, But may take till next winter. Because I have other projects first. They sell reed kits at sip scooter. This spring and summer I'll make more vids on it all.
@secondpartdiycncandautomat843314 күн бұрын
@pmodrat okay bro, wait for the video about reed valve on vespa. what do you think about porting rotary replaced reed valve lml engine system?
@pmodrat13 күн бұрын
Casting of the case is not the same. Hard to do without welding and machine shop. Are you sure the valve is bad ?
@secondpartdiycncandautomat843313 күн бұрын
@@pmodrat yeah the rotary is very damaged causing fuel to spray out, my plan is to tig weld ac/dc and cnc machine it into a crankcase lml model reed valve. what do you think? is my plan right?
@pmodrat13 күн бұрын
good machinist could do it. Once there was someone that made a special plate for reed that made it easer but have not seen it anymore. Once you have the reed plate and can see it all I'm sure you can find way.

Thank you for the very instructional video! It helped me a lot. My tank has been cleaned and has a new tap/strainer... do you suggest adding an inline filter too? It had one in, but I think it is restricting the fuel flow. Many thanks again!
@pmodrat2 ай бұрын
does not need one if tank is clean. Also there is a filter in cab.. Only very high performance set up with high flow tap and high flow carb. But also if so I use a small glass one in line that is high flow from Sip scooter.
@GreaseAndGravel2 ай бұрын
@@pmodrat Thanks so much for the reply, I really appreciate it! I will eliminate the filter for now. Cheers

Hey bro thank you so much for posting this video. Are both of those pistons the same size? I’m just curious cuz for sure my old piston was slapping. I see the mark on one side for sure. I bought the bike used so idk I need a bigger size. I look forward to your response. Thumbs up and subscribed !

Old 166 malossi . and stock 150 . If low miles and not in bad shape just change the piston. Always good to set up bike a little rich. If kited premix is better. Take care.

Question.. do you need a vacuum? I have a 74 vespa 150 I ran a gas line directly from the tank to the carb but can not keep gas flow into the carb? Any idea why I would have gas to the carb and not have flow into the carb?? As long as I pour gas into the carb manually I can keep it running.
@pmodrat8 ай бұрын
The fuel line is known to kink very easy on first bend. There is a line that will not kink with a wire spun in it from SIP Scooter. Also a good fuel tap helps because of the air vent tube. Every time I try something else I get on and off fuel flow. Also some of the new floats do not always fit well in bowl and can give small problems. Been very busy sorry for the time lag. Take care and good luck with all.

There may be a leak involving the breather pipe. Common pain. Had some with leak on the bottom of pipe. Also hairline crack. Thats why I build that little test station just to make sure. If fuel filled over pipe will also leak. The breather is always open to the fuel line. Hope I helped. Scooter Mercado has a good stock replacement that can keep up with common kitted bikes. Take care.

Can I add a Stella disc to a stock P200 fork? Stella bottom headset too? To add disc to my P2?
@pmodrat Жыл бұрын
I did it once. But the lock set up for fork will not work. So I found a way to transplant the bottom only, and headset bottom. Worth the extra work in the end. Came out real nice.

@IdhharMKassim3 ай бұрын
Use recommended oil volume. Some recommendb300mls to 400mls. I've noticed some leaks myself when filling from 450mls to 500mls
@dksfollies47727 күн бұрын
Ensure the oil level is upto the full hole and not more . Plus i simply use a piece of thread and wrap it around the drain bolt before tightening it to full . It makes a ring like washer and prevents leaks and drips

I just got a stock 2008 Stella and bought the GGR kit along with the recommended pilot and main jets as well as the P200 air cleaner. If I have subpar results I'll look at this thinner reed material.
