The truth is you cannot really appreciate this show if you didn't see Star Wars Rebels. The characters, the plot, the whales, Thrawn (who was a menace in rebels) are all from that show. It's essentially a continuatiion. Ahsoka is iconic from The Clone Wars. So that was the problem for people who didnt see those shows.
