Being a metro Detroit native, I remember as a kid driving down to Florida for vacation when my dad & I began screaming as the radio announced that Hasek was signed by Detroit. That playoff run is something I simply will never be able to forget. I grew up a Hasek fan since the 90's, and for him to come to Detroit, was something I couldn't even imagine. Good times.

#39 " The Dominator"..... The by far the most unbelievable, exciting,jaw dropping & by far the most unorthodox but Dom will always be the best goaltender in my 51yrs.of watching & going to his games,playing hockey for over 20+ yrs 13 as a goalie👍 favorite time as a hockey player!! He made saves that rocked the whole Earth!!!🙏 God bless ya brother! & God bless the sabres for picking him up.!!💕 Just as I love Dale Earnhardt Sr. I love Dominator as well!!! Just classy & good man!! 42nd hall of fame honor!!! We're as sabres can are proud of one of the best if not the 1st #1 since their inception in 1970-71 as Gilbert Pearault #11.....#1 was the very first Buffalo sabre to put on a sabre jersey& oh ya #1 ,1st Buffalo Sabre to be their #1 draft pick ....very 1st player on the new franchise....the Buffalo Sabres..... Když miluješ Dominika, měl bys navštívit Česko A mimo Prahy taky Pardubice jeho město, myslím že by se ti ten trip líbil. Česko je velmi bezpečná země , plná krásných měst, spousta hradů a zámků ( největší koncentrace na světě ) taky máme největší hradní komplex na světě Pražský hrad! Zapsaný v knize rekordů. No a o pivu ani nemluvím ( Bohemia ) a dobré víno a slivovice ( na Moravě - část země)

Who was the goalie The Dom was coming in to displace? Must've been an ego crushing revelation that your team didn't have enough confidence in you to go all the way. Before or after Mike Vernon? I can't remember the other goalies rotating through Detroit back then. I think Osgood may have been too young to be the #1 back then.

The Sabres always let good players go, because they are to cheap. I watched them as a great fan for over thirty years hoping for the cup. I gave up on them years ago, I have better things to do with my time instead of watching them lose.

46:05 is just a criminal save. In a game this important, Hasek is the greatest goalie to ever play. He made saves like that all the time. Buffalo would of won 4 cups in a row with Hasek if they had offense like Detroit or Colorado. Here is a disturbing stat. In 1996/1997 and 1997/1998 seasons when Hasek won back to back Hart trophies, the highest scorer on those teams were Derek Plante at 53 points and Miroslav Satan at 46 points. That is absolutely mind boggling. I don't think we will ever see something like this again. What a talent.

Was with us Detroit red wings for 1 year and won the cup. One of the best goalies ever. Wings were bad ass this year

Other than this year, Roy was dominant in the playoffs. 4 Cups. 3 Conn Smythe. No one's ever done that before, goalie or player. Dude was clutch. So he's not too worried about this moment too much.

I realize you're a professional troll, but this goes too far. Hasek is the GOAT in goal. Buffalo traded him to Detroit; it's not he was in free agency and choose to go there. I'm glad he won a Cup, even if it had to be without a team other than my Sabres.

If Buffalo management would've made an effort to get a couple of superstar players instead of getting rid of their one superstar player, they could've won one or two cups. But nnnooo, they had to do what Buffalo sports teams do best, come in second place.
