I want forearms like yours when I get older..Im 32 now doing a lot of grip work
@DannyHamar2 күн бұрын
Think I can do it, I usually use 70kg on that lift with a dumbbell but I do it for 15 reps +. So if I can grip it I can definately curl that one. But I assume you also have stronger arms than 99% ? I do triceps extensions at 130kg for sets of 8-10 and I do regular cheatcurls up to 140kg at 115kg bodyweight. Arms have always been my strongest bodypart. I did my first 200kg close grip bench f ex at 18. And I dont have strong pecs. Now at 36 years old I do only high rep benching and I doubt very many people can rep out more than me on 2,3 or 4 plates (ofcourse Larry and Smaev can.... How much do you weig and can you do one arm pull ups ?
@CarlMyerscoughGripКүн бұрын
@DannyHamar I would never claim to be strong at curls or anything like that. This is entirely a feat of grip strength because of the 60mm diameter handle and a globe dumbbell. BW 160kg. You are clearly plenty strong enough for the curl part, as you say it's whether or not you could grip it. Best of luck to you.

To crush a potato what rated gripper would you be using
@CarlMyerscoughGrip2 күн бұрын
@paulhussey884 I've only managed it twice in my life out of hundreds of attempts. I do my full gripper workout before working up to a single at a #4 or beyond and then have attempted the potato. So it is much harder than a 4. Full disclosure, I've only ever managed it with a russet potato from Trader Joe's, and they sit in the garage in the heat and dark for 3 to 5 days first. Some people have mentioned about closing a 3 and crushing a potato, but what they mean is splitting it with there fingers as I do with the larger fruits here, not a true crush. Similarly with an apple you'll see many that can split it, but less actually crushing it. I had credit card set the #4, and closed the ghp10 before I first got a potato.

Got the 2.5 but I can’t do it man I can get it about 3/4 the way…man it’s tough but i just bought a 2 to train some more with hopefully I can do it and be able to get the 2.5 in a couple of months
@CarlMyerscoughGrip5 күн бұрын
@Redman_30 You will likely need about 7 reps with the 2 in the same style to close the 2.5. The amount of reps it takes depends on the individual, but most people are between 6-10.

Nice review, Carl, thanks! Also, very impressive attempt at the 6 band! That was pretty much parallel or even better I think. Why did you skip the five band for demonstration, if I might ask? The 4-band you crushed & if it's like a lighter #4 (like you said), I don't suspect many other people to be able to do the same. That was also a smash of the 3-band, too many reps to count. You didn't remark about the knurling (I believe), which Lloyd tells me is some of the best out there. Would you agree? I have three 303z's i purchased that are shipping to California this moment, your review makes my level of anticipation even higher! 😱
@CarlMyerscoughGripАй бұрын
Wanted to save my energy for a true attempt with the 6 😂. The knurling is ideal. Deep and grippy, but not so sharp where it's tearing the skin. Again I would say the best.

Fantastic review Carl, always insightful listening to you. Also, what were they even thinking while making that final one? Carl is the only human who has closed the GHP 10 and CoC#4 with the CC rule and if he can't close a gripper, that means no human who has ever lived can close it.

How tall are you and how big are your hands?! Does hand size give you an advantage?

@@ttohv i knew he looked big, so he is a giant haha
@degradatedАй бұрын
@@Pointblank776 Despite his calm and gentle demeanor, he is a mountain of a man, as they might say. 🙂 Larger hand size usually gives you an all-around advantage in grip, except for certain specific narrow pinch events. But with blobs, rolling handle deadlifts and grippers (in particular, when it comes to setting them), as far as I know having longer fingers + a wider span won't hurt. What's nice about Lloyd's AtomGripz being customizable is that you can specify the configuration based on your hand size and capabilities. Smaller handed people might want a standard or narrow spread, for example. 👊🏻
