That’s Interesting because I hooked a lightbar up to my 2008 Hilux piggybacking the passenger headlight with the supplied harness with lightbarand it worked perfectly. So now I am repeating the process for some driving lights also but piggybacking them to the drivers side this time and they will not work with the high beam they only work off the switch. I’m not a sparky but could the drivers side of the headlight wiring be negatively switched?
@dingeldiy7 күн бұрын
The whole car should be one of the other. it wont vary from left headlight to right headlight. both headlights should be negatively switched so just piggy back off the other light bar

Great craftsmanship. Im in the south and wondering how to protect a two story window. It is painted and maintained. But is glazing and an overcoat of silicone or protective wax be a good idea. We don't want to have to replace the window system.
@dingeldiy7 күн бұрын
Keep up the maintenance for sure! Wax is a good idea but may get in the way when it comes time to repaint. Maybe even a hydrophobic coating is worth looking into

Looks good mate. I see you cladded around the old timber window sills. If you had to put aluminium windows in, how would you go about flashing the bottom sill?
@dingeldiy7 күн бұрын
Most new ally windows come with a rubber flange/ gasket attached to the bottom that flashes over your cladding - this helps but isn't enough on it's own. You also put metal or plastic flashing that comes in a roll on the house frame where the window sits. It should flash over the builders foil at a minimum but can also flash over the weatherboard and then be covered up later by a quad. Another option is to use self adhesive flashing tape to cover the junction of the window to the frame assuming the frame has builders foil already installed.
@zegersfpv26846 күн бұрын
@dingeldiy Thanks for the reply mate. Much appreciated. Looking at doing a small reclad. Might just rip out the old window sills. They've held up so far (70yrs)

Ion my kzn130 I have done the 10 blade fan, fan hub maintenance, bigger aluminum rad, new water pump, and external transcooler in series. No intercooler because I haven't wanted to do invasive body work yet. You think I would be ok with the fuel resistor mod?
@dingeldiy7 күн бұрын
I'd do a full 3 inch exhaust including the dump pipe as well just to be safe - when it comes to adding fuel you'll want to monitor and lower EGT's as much as possible

Nice vid king, my only question is water proofing the outside. If there are any small gaps (given how old houses are) would you recommend filling with sikaflex etc?
@dingeldiy7 күн бұрын
Great question, when I put this window in the house didn't have cladding so I used some foil tape as a temp flashing to tape the sizilation to the window on the outside. To answer you question: I would use expanding foam to take up any gaps between the window frame and the house frame - this is good for insulation as well sika is good for filling small gaps. Depending on your cladding will depend on how to seal your window - for brick homes you can use timber quads and sealant. For weatherboards you will want a flashing above the window that tucks underneath the weatherboards to encourage water to drain away.

Timing good and one kick start.but after 30mns or more idling then Timing belt loose.switch off.bought another timing tensioner and same problem. Timing not Being affected. Only the belt becoming loose.what might be the problem
@dingeldiy7 күн бұрын
It sounds like an issue with how and where its mounted. Is anything cracked? are the bolts and threads ok where its mounted? is your supplier giving you the wrong belt? How loose is it? Is it loose enough to skip teeth?

I have fitted a mechanical fuel pump in my 2004 hilux 1kzte..replacing an electic one,now my truck lost power...poor rev count what could be the problem
@dingeldiy7 күн бұрын
It could be an issue with the timing or fuel pressure of the mechanical pump. You might need to check the timing and adjust it accordingly.

Good video. Fair play I have not taken out my fuel pump. But I was doing my crank and rocket cover seal. While doing the timing belt the fuel pump was about one tooth out. I rotated it twice to hopefully get it to line up but it wouldn’t. So I just put it back together. Would what your suggestion be the fixing of this issue ?
@dingeldiy7 күн бұрын
If the car is running as you'd expect i'd leave it alone. If you haven't started it yet, crank it over by hand a bunch of times to make sure there is no interference. You can try clock the pump to get the marks to line up. If none of that works, i'd be starting from scratch and taking the timing case off, lining up all of the timing gears and after that line up you pulleys for the timing belt.

Hey man super helpful video as I'm about to tackle this now. My house looks similar to yours in the layout and was wondering what size/depth holes you dug for the stumps? Like hole depth vs house height vs stump embedment in concrete! Cheers!
@dingeldiy7 күн бұрын
Stump needs to be 100mm into natural stiff clay, minimum hole depth is 400mm. Holes are 400mmx400mm wide. 2 bags of conc per hole but I like 3 for good measure and need to ram pack the soil when you backfill. If you can, dig to the bottom of an existing stump. That will give you a good indication of what needs to be done. Some old stumps aren't even concreted in so it goes to show you don't need to go crazy. That being said it's good to be thorough and follow standard modern practices.

When adjusting the pump do you need to put piston number one on TDC or just adjust
@dingeldiyАй бұрын
Just adjust. All of the gears will remain "timed" but just adjusting the pump while its still installed will advance or retard injection pump timing.
