Hey!! Awesome cover, sounds very true to the original!! Do you still have the sheet music/tabs? I know it's been 4 years

I've been obsessing over this album, again, after nearly 40 years and this solo in particular. Say what you will about the horrors of social media, the shocking decline of values and collapse of common decency etc etc... But being able to find this excellent video after poking around the net for 2 minutes at 3:00 in the morning kinda makes it all worth it.

Society has always been, we just grew up and saw it for what it is. That said, I thank you for taking the time to watch my video and I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

This was spot on, you killed that solo! Honestly it sounds so good, I was questioning if you had just edited the song over the video, for a moment. Great work my guy!

Thanks! I assure you I recorded this live playing over the track, although I appreciate the skepticism.

It doesn't actually go like my fingers want it to go. My intuition and years of rutty playing try to make this less exciting than it really is. Its so rolly. The A part is soooo rolly polly, that's wild. Giving this a go when I get home. Good shit, sir.

Are you using any effects to get the same bass sound in the song?
@scottplaysbass Жыл бұрын
I'm using some EQ plugins (Pultec EQP-1A, Little Labs VOG) and a compression plugin (LA-2A), but no other effects. I think the original has a tremolo of some kind on the bass part if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for watching!

You are one of the most efficient bass players out there probably. Absolutely zero extra movement, playing with ease, I'd be sweating fucking buckets playing this using fingers. Nailed it.
@scottplaysbass Жыл бұрын
Thanks for noticing! I've spent years working on my economy of motion, and it feels really good to have that seen and appreciated. If you practice with that in mind you will get there too. Practice with focus and intention, and you'll be crushing it in no time!
@davidhasselhoff380 Жыл бұрын
It really struck me right away, even more watching your other videos and also probably because I try to focus on that specific element of my own playing as well, although I am far from there :D But the practice has definitely paid off - looks absolutely effortless.
