I feel cheated. Besides Half-Life, this was the first videogame that I actually played all the way through, with the exception of some freeware games that were available on my stock Dell computer. 3 straight months of Morrowind on summer break, living in the basement and barely coming out to eat, shower, and piss. I was hooked, and unfortunately I thought all expansive games would be just as good or better. Since that time in 2002 I have spent thousands of dollars on other games, all the way up to modern offerings like Elden Ring. Still haven't encountered that Morrowind type satisfaction. I keep asking... Was it just nostalgia? The aesthetics? The chance system? The fact that this is the only game where the player character is dismissed and treated like absolute shit from day 1 of gameplay? There are so many individual aspects to point to, but I really think it comes down to the fact that they got ALMOST ALL OF IT just right. Yes, we can acknowledge the bugs in the game, or the muddy graphics of the day, or the silly way combat seems to function. But for some reason, playing morrowind feels like watching an incredible movie from a time before CGI, where the story and acting was the critical ingredient of success, rather than a 100 million dollar graphics budget or yet another retelling of the same tried and true formulae. Morrowind was unique in the world, a game where you didn't need to even use cheat codes because the combination of alchemy, enchantments, and newly discovered bugs in the game could propel you to godhood... But it was something that you had to work for, nobody handed it to you as part of Quest #2 Mission #5. I don't know. I could listen to FOOTAGE of Morrowind like this all day, but I can't imagine saying the same for any other game. Maybe it just reminds me of better days.

The single most peaceful location in all of Fable, a game consisting of peaceful locations.

I just love this game so much. I don’t know many people who have played it but every single detail of this game has a special place in my heart and memories. I still remember how i discovered this game by my older cousin which was like a big brother, he lended me fable 2 as a joke to my 8 yo self thinking I’d hate it. But i actually fell in love with the story, characters and gameplay. And just by hearing the melody of the game makes my heart flutter and remember those longs afternoons playing this in my old Xbox, the times my parents would scold me for staying up late playing and the time i begged my dad to get me fable 3 for my birthday after watching gameplays and walkthroughs. Also, only a few soundtracks have captivated me the way this one did, every time i hear a similar melody or instrumental it reminds me of this game, which is truly a masterpiece
