Does this thing actually come with any games on it or did you have to put them on there cuz I have no idea where to find this crap on the internet half the time you're looking to get a virus on your computer it's just a crap show

it did come pre-loaded with games. but it's more a random mess of games with lots of duplicates and bargain bin titles. Not curated / organized like you'd want.

This is pretty cool… Most real coin pushers the front lip is at a slight angle to make it harder to push the coins out over the edge and easier for more coins to fall back to the house…. Also a simple mode to add a catch tray to the front rather than have the coins spill out on the table…. But very cool! I want to make one for my kids… and me!

@RetroBuiltGames16 күн бұрын
thanks! It's possible, but you'll have use some memory saving strategies. Use an ESP32 to start; there might be enough memory for all the animation frames you want to redraw. creating a pallet of colors instead of writing unique color IDs in every array will also help. good luck! would love to see it when done!

Possible, but easier is subjective when that solution may cost more. But if it matches your playing preferences, do it.

Hi, amazing video pal. I have a Sony KDL-32EX305 television, it has 4 hdmi, composite, rgb, and even vga… but no svideo. Is there a way to mod the tv adding a s-video imput. Can be done? I have several Atari machines that uses that signal, the machines can be connected via composite, but image is terrible and darker… plz help 🙏
@RetroBuiltGames26 күн бұрын
Id hazard a guess moding the TV for s-video would be complex just in disassembly and finding the input traces on the circuit board. You'd be better buying a retrotink 2x www.retrotink.com/product-page/retrotink-2x-pro that upscales s-video to HDMI. I use this for PS1 to play on my HDMI TV. i have zero complaints about it, just works. It only outputs 480p over HDMI, which is worth noting because some TV's don't accept resolutions below 720p. Your TV seems fancy enough this is may not an issue but i would find a user manual for it and confirm.

This is an awesome project, I can’t believe it took me so long to stumble on this video! I would love to try this. Do you think I’d be able to fit a two-player button layout on there? I really liked your 2:3 MAME cabinet design but this one might be the perfect size!
@RetroBuiltGames27 күн бұрын
Thank you! At this size you could fit 2-players with two-button each (Komani beat-em up like). With a 3-button row each, you have to widen the cabinet so two players are comfortably spaced.
@phil_the_human27 күн бұрын
@ thanks for the quick reply! I think that could work. I’ll have to take a look at your plans closer but I think this will definitely be one of my next projects! I have to find something to do with the CRT TVs I’ve hoarded!
@BrainSlugs83Ай бұрын
I would recommend simplifying the electronics by using an off-the-shelf RAMPS shield. It already has 4 (or 5) modular stepper drivers, 2 high amperage outputs, an LCD driver, and plenty of spare IO, and they're ubiquitous and very cheap. Whole kits (including the Arduino, shield, motor drivers, and LCD / control panel) are usually under 30.00 USD, and there's no soldering required, lowering the cost and complexity of any kit electronics like this. (yeah I know, it's a 7yr old video, but these were even more common in 2016 too, so...) For the claw mech wires, consider switching to a curled wire (like on some audio cords, or old land line telephones), you can get a 3 or 4 conductor black audio wire today that is very springy and won't droop (the wire guide is still a good idea, but it will look better if it isn't drooping ever).

Great build! I've been looking into doing something like this. Is there a reason to use 3/4" plywood instead of 1/2" to save weight and cost?
@RetroBuiltGames2 ай бұрын
Thanks! good question. 3/4" plywood is better for three objective reasons : 1) the proportions of the cabinet. 2) T-molding. you need 3/4" to cut a groove and keep structure at the edge. 3) You sacrifice a lot of depth when drilling blind holes for the pegs. I would not validate this design at 1/2" ply. subjectively: If you go with thinner ply it will look and feel substantially "cheaper". If you've ever been in a kitchen built with 1/2" thick cabinet walls, you already know.

I would never argue how to spend your money. It's up you to decide if you'd rather buy it or build it. Showcasing how to build it opens the debate; you decide the value.

that would be the PDF but some may require a CAD element as there are different paper sizes (letter, A4) and printers have different print margins. You'd may need to adjust in CAD for the unknown. PDF has dimensions, so you could scale until its 1:1
