Ok 1st of all I have a question what should I do if I'm using 4 weight yarn since I don't have anything smaller and the lid of my work is coming out too big even after I've followed your steps, but also using a smaller crochet hook?

You can use your 4ply and try a smaller hook, try 2.5mm. You can try and fit as you go along.

@@Angelknitstoo they are too cute. I have three great nieces with very long hair who love barrettes and crocheted things, these will be great stocking stuffers. I also have 6 great nieces who are infants and toddlers and making these and attaching to little headbands will be great for them, too…even a few attached to the elastic bands for making ponytails or to finish off braids would be great also. So many possibilities. 🥰
