Oh my goodness your mama is so sweet and you did sooo much better than I did with that port placement! I laid in bed crying for two days from the pain and just anxiety in general. I kept mine in for nearly three years because I was deathly afraid of replacing and having to experience that all over again but I realize now just how much stronger that experience made me. I just had my port removed yesterday. ☺️🙌🏻 I see that it’s been eight years since this video was posted so I pray that everything went well for you and you’re healthy now with this journey behind you.

Got very emotional watching this @RacheliAlkobey as I can relate to everything you show! 7/12 here on ABVD (minus the B now) and I am very positive and calmed but experiencing the same ups and downs every 2 weeks that I see you went through. It's been 7 years since you uploaded this, I wish you are doing great!

I just had my chemo port removed yesterday at City Of Hope in California. I’m still in a lot of pain. The port removal sealed my cancer survivor status. I asked the surgeon how many port removals he performs, and he said “not too many”. Thanks for sharing this video. Getting your port removed is a GREAT DAY!

Hi, I pray you are doing well. I’m a patient at COH in Upland CA. I don’t know what kind of port it was, but it was white with a grey center piece where I was injected with the chemo. I had it for a year. I took a picture of it when it was removed earlier this year. When it was in, I couldn’t sleep on my right side and it always hurt my right arm. Now that it’s out, it’s left a 2 inch gash on my chest that always itches and hurts when I touch it. The scar is really thick and I don’t think it has healed correctly.

If a person ever needed another type infusion, leaving it in for life is fine as long as you keep it flushed every 6-8 weeks. My onologist said its okay to leave mine in. I was so releived he told me that. Especially not long after that, I needed zometa infusions! The port entry is much less painful during infusions than sticking needles in your hands. Otherwise the port procedure will be needed done again by your surgeon just to put it back in again. ❤

I faked cancer once for a month. I feel so bad for it. But I lost four family members at the time and noone payed attention to me. I was in desperate need for attention. And I could not get it just my asking for it. Josh, if you see this, I just want to tell you I'm sorry. Please give me a second choice.

Thank you, I am so glad I am not the only one! My doctor told me the neuropathy in my feet would be gone after a year of chemo being over, we are now at almost 2 years and he acts like I am lying when I tell him it has not even gotten better. On top of that the balance is a huge issue since I can not feel my feet some days. While I was put on blood thinners during chemo due to 2 blood clots that I had to force them to find since they dismissed it as my asthma I was off it for 2 months and now back since my body apparently keeps producing them according to scans so I may be stuck on them indefinitely. Family thinks now that I am out of chemo I am fine, I can do everything I did before and they even ask my husband why I am not working. The fatigue and chronic pain make functioning some days hard. My husband actually got a job working from home so he could help me out since he does not trust I am not going to get hurt walking 2 blocks to drop off and pick up my kids from school. I feel like I have been lied to.

I had someone lie about having a terminal neurological condition - to me, his wife, his kids. Then he begged her to kill herself so he wouldn't have to "die alone". The horrifying thing is that due to post-partum depression, and a gun he stole and gave to her, she did it. People who lie about this sort of thing do so much harm. I am so sorry you were put through this.
