My friend, thank you so much for this video! I am a computer tech for the los angeles school district, and at the school I work at, we have FIFTY of these laptops in a closet, and they all only have 512mb of ram. They all run VERY SLOW and the school won't spend anymore money on them, so they stored them all in a closet. Now that I've watched your video, I know the other ram is under the keyboard, which I didn't know before. I can take the ram out of some and put it in the others to make at least 10 or 20 of them have a full gig of ram each, which will at least stabilize the running of windows and help them to run smoother. This video helped me more than you will ever know and many students will be happy to be able to use them with at least a decent amount of speed!

I have the same Macbook Pro I cured the issue with new thermal paste the other thing Inside the Blower can get dusty very quicly inside the fan gets clog with dust that makes it run super hot, the other thing is the back cover is totally close all aluminum an no extra ventilation vent its a terrible Idea its a beautiful laptop but to me over price

man i love that laptop, best i ever had by far. unfortunately i spilled coffee over it 4 years ago leaving it out of order. i just found him in the basement, turns out he is running again. too bad it supports only 2GB max, times have changed. but he performs pretty well under some lightweight LXDE mint linux installation i just installed.

the cpu and gpu is running so hard thats why anyone would know that and the base of it donest help just dont put laptops on your lap when your working it hard

Volviendo al tema ya te digo yo que los"laptops"(me da igual el significado literal) no han sido diseñados teniendo en cuenta las piernas de una persona. Es un "portátil" con patas de goma para apoyarlo sobre una superficie plana y si tu te pones a pasar un benchmark con la CPU/GPU al 100% durante un rato con el apoyado en las piernas pues que quieres que te diga...Feliz 2013 y no t enfades

well, I think it may be slightly better. I only installed 1 new card inside. I tried Netflix and am still having the same problems with that. your video was very helpful though. thank you.

A ver cuando de una vez la gente se entera de que los portátiles sean cuales sean no están pensados para usarlos en las piernas, sino encima de una mesa. Además es que estás ejecutando una aplicación que tira de gráfica por lo que la temperatura sube muy rápido, En las piernas tiene que ser momentaneo pero no siempre por costumbre. Si eso ponte a jugar a crysis durante 1 hora con una alienware 18 mx encima de las piernas. Salen ardiendo si antes no se te han atrofiado del peso.

I only use 2000 dollar systems, it is the big restrictions mac throws ad you. Not being able to use all software or costum hardware. Mac is way to slow I, you just need a nice 2011 intel cpu oced to 4.6 ghz and dual 7970 custom watercooled and don't forget the ssd's in raid 0 or 32 gb of ram. Don't think a mac user would understand what a fast machine is.

I was disappointed too with the heat but I used a fan program and Im not complaning as much, also I have a cooling pad to use it on my laptop with out burning important stuff lol The thing is give it more a chance, not to mention the resell value is high even on older MacBook Pros.
