The video was to repetitious and way too long a couple of cuts would have been fine but you drag it out so far. I like the design just not the way you put it together as far as the way the video was put together

How to make martial arts wooden dummy 's leg?

When I was a wee girl, my dad would sit me on his workbench & I would watch him make drawers this way, with just a hand saw, chisel & mallet. (These days, that alone would probably get him reported to child protection!) We still have one of those sets of drawers from my childhood - battered from years of rough usage by careless kids, but still as strong & firm as the day it was made, 60+ years later. Later, Dad progressed to making fine furniture, and got himself a table saw and a router. But learning those skills with hand tools stood him in good stead for using power tools with skill. If he were still alive and able, I could get him to show me this. But he is not here anymore, and so I am very grateful to have this demo at a time when I need these skills for a van build!

I would add some bracing across the bottom of the vertical pieces, add some height and forget those traction bars, other than that very nice design.

That's exactly what I was looking for! Finally someone doing it by hand so I can try on my very first project. I don't have multiple saws or power tools, just a regular saw and a chisel - the same tools you just used. Thank you!

Great video. I have been wondering if this joint would be strong enough for attaching a table leg to an apron? Obviously, the spline would need to be right sized, but this seems easier than dowels (less error prone).
