I was at a Richard Shindell concert and between songs he mentioned James Taylor. A young person said “oh that’s Livingston brother”. Richard said “i think he would love to hear that!

Just wondering, what's the skill level of most people who attend his camps? Diverse or more advanced players? Thanks in advance!
@bobflowers10295 күн бұрын
Very diverse. Beginners to advanced. The camps are great. So much personal time with Tommy and all the instructors. If you've not been ... go to one.

@@bobflowers1029 Thank you! That's very reassuring, I'm hoping to attend one soon!

Tommy is playing Old Town. Amazingly enough, I attended one of his camps and he heard me practicing that song in the hall. He noticed my fingering was incorrect and he came over to me with the correction which of course was too difficult for me to play. A whole crowd of people came over to witness the little one on one session. Fast-forward and I can now play that difficult fingering with ease

I bet many of us wish we could hand Tommy our guitar and lean in close like that to see how he can make it sing!

Just after I attended his camp back in 2021 my wife and I saw him with VIP tickets. I got to meet again and he laughed because he recognized me. I gave him a little parlor guitar which he played and signed and that guitar is now sitting next to my other guitarson display in my living room.

Give it up old man, time for you to sip prune juice at the old age home while waiting to die. NO ONE wants to hear you fart around on the guitar anymore.

It's so great you can have a record of these times together. As a tap dancer at a New York dance school in the 1950s, who can only rely on memory for those great times, I so envy you.

sussed it - it's Georgie Girl, originally by The Seekers - the on-stage banter is about the version of it on the Chet Atkins album Solo Flights
