Netherlands not good at any sport except speed skating. Boring country. These parents wasting their money sending their kids to gymnastics lessons😂😂. Sanne Wever their only hope. Very sad. She did that same routine two Olympics ago. She looks tired and fed up.

So glad she wasn’t hurt. Too many gymnasts have had devastating injuries right before the Olympics.

When Sanne was on with this routine, she was actually fire 🔥 Remember, in addition to Olympic Gold, she’s won: World Championship Silver medal 🥈 and 2 European Championship Golds 🥇 on Beam Her Olympic Gold was no fluke, she just peaked at the right time. I think we also have to keep in mind that she’s 32 now, so obviously not as much in peak form as she used to be. Also many gymnasts say that fear starts to set in as you get older, so it might be partly that too!

Can you explain more? I know that looks wrong, but I'm not sure why. Is she twisting each half in different directions? I think Melnikova and Khorkina both did this skill and it looked terrible for them as well.

she really struggles with consistency on bars, especially with this newly constructed routine that she first debuted around 2021

Ehh unfortunately objectively she's not underrated. She's not very strong on this event. @@DutchgymnerdSpeaking in terms of a team final; It would not be a good move for her to go on bars.Even if you ignore the mistake and don't take it into consideration. With no big problems... It would be more beneficial to have someone who did a simpler routine cleanly executed. No difficult transitions or complicated connections, a no frill routine with pointed feet, minimal leg separation, and all handstands hit. I think she hit TWO handstands...maybe 3 out of all of them! And had flexed feet and leg separation throughout... even on the dismount. So she would get heavily deducted unfortunately. Honestly the most shocking thing to me is her not hitting her handstands 😮 so atrocious. I wish she would work on the basics and not just try to throw hard skills. I actually like Sanne don't get me wrong! I feel like I sound like a hater but I'm totally not. I think does pretty gymnastics at the core which is why I'm always interested to see what she's doing.(I was looking for a video of her at the Olympics qualifications and saw this one) Like with beam I just wish they added higher difficulty cus once again, shes beautiful to watch! I know they want to have/keep their own style but adding difficulty wouldn't make it any less beautiful or not her. On top of that she's totally capable of doing those beam skills with consistency and high execution as it's already there. Versus on bars, where its better to get rid of the "difficulty" cus never really done anything for her. Whenever I watch these videos, I'm just like "whhhyyy?!" It makes me mad lol. The dutch gymnasts have a really pretty style! Which is something that's been getting rareer and rareer to the point where only a few gymnasts have that. The dutch gymnasts being the exception. Especially this quad, the event finals at the Olympics, I would almost go as far to say the artistic element as a whole is kinda obsolete. There where a few that were artistic and different so they stood out to me, but didn't score high. Anywho, rant over lol sorry for this being so lengthy. The dutch team makes me so angry because it feels like there is just always missing something! Especially because I see them as being so capable. maybe they need better coaches? Idk

Zwakke oefening vol wiebels en daarnaast een val. Brug was ook al een ramp. Ik vind eigenlijk dat ze niet naar de OS moet gaan.

I know everyone loves watching that final turn sequence including myself, but it's incredibly inefficient. I wonder if it would be better if she just replaced that entire sequence with the Okino. She would only lose .1 in difficulty value. She could then follow up with her split leap into stretched jump 1/1 for the core requirement. This would minimize execution deductions and also the risk of breaking connections.
