Thanks for commissioning an artist instead of using Ai generated images! You could go an easy road and you choose to instead help somebody pay for their living, as an artist myself I appreciate this a lot. Your version would be truly heartbreaking,I wish we get that

My problems with this movie: - we never had a subspecies of any dragons in the franchise. They were a similar species, but never a subspecies. They pulled that think from nowhere. - we never got any hints that other night furries were killed. It was more suggested that they weren't native species to Berg, and Toothless was there by accident or was an outcast. Or they just naturally go extinct because they weren't adapt enough to the environment. - the night furries got extinct in the end. Only hybrids exist now. And this hybrids can only breed with Light furries, so the night furries genes will slowly become less and less significant and finally stop existing at alll - not all dragons can live in a hidden world, what about the species that cannot fly? Like Cave crushers or Speed runners. And how they supposed to fit all dragons here? It is not that big. And what about dragons that can't eat fish or rocks? What about species that hunts boars or other animals? What about species that eats other dragons, wouldn't they eat all the native dragons that are unaware of the danger? - there was never something like evil dragon species but now out of nowhere there is one. And are we gonna believe Hiccup would kill a dragons, that were mind controlled by their own venom, instead of freeing them and helping them recover? That's totally out of character for him

I miss "large cat" Toothless. In the first one he was sleek, with a pointed head and graceful movements except for, notably, his tail which helped Hiccup see what was wrong. He pawed at things, played with lights, even the way he moved when he walked and jumped was slinky and fluid. He had that intelligent snark and the way he fought the Monstrous Nightmare in the first movie was with a lot of very quick swipes, using his claws instead of his broad mouth and less effective teeth. He was a notable climber and perched on things when he could (the rafters, the way he stalked Hiccup at the beginning from atop the rock, hanging upside down in the tree which meant he climbed the thing). His tail swayed rhythmically (the moment when he's helping Hiccup at the end and his tail shows his own disability mirroring Hiccup's aaaagh it's so *good*) and he even did that thing that cats do sometimes when they sit up on their haunches. Then the second movie rolled around and the head got squarer and flatter, the tongue started coming out more often (yeah yeah I didn't forget about how he stuck his tongue out during their test flight) and the real "dog" energy made itself more apparent. The unfortunate part about dogifying him is that in media, dogs are brave and well-meaning but generally not as intelligent as felines (which was exactly what they tried to portray with obvious new-cat Light Fury, complete with mewling sounds) and the third movie straight turned Toothless dumb for the sake of "but he's like a dog, he the dumb dog male to the graceful cat female". Like... Toothless from the first movie and even the second one is a different character than Hidden World Toothless. I'd love to see how HTTYD 1 Toothless would deal with the Light Fury because we all know he wouldn't put up with ANY of her attitude lol

Legit found this video in my recommendations. And not even 6 minutes in I came up with a better way to portray Grimmel more terrifying and an actual threat to the Night Furies. Hiccup and his group would fly to Grimmel's base, trying to gather any info of what he's next plan may be. Soon once they arrived, they would enter a large room, completly wrapped in darkness as they entered. Tuffnut and Ruffnut would be goofing off while the othes continulessly keep telling them to keep messing around. One of the two twins would bump into a table, seeing some sort of round object on it before starting to toss it between themselve while still not taking this steal mission seriously. That is until Hicupp lit up Inferno (his sword) to case light on what the object was, a small dragon skull. Leading to the twin holding it to drop it, leaving Valka to pick it up and confirm that it's askull of a Night Fury. That when the group looks back to the table to see more skulls, all lined up by size as trophies. As they continued to observe the room from the light of the fire, the would would see more, and more of these trophies. Wing's in cases aline the wall, scaled rugs, claw decor. All leading up to a centor piece of a full skeleton of a Titan Wing Night Fury. For contexts for anyone who doesn't know what a Titan Wing is. Titan Wing Dragons are dragons that lived past old age and became very strong beasts. Now, there still a lot more I wish to do with this scene idea, but I don't wanna make this longer then it already is, but I feel like this scene would convay how much of a threat he his to the main cast, showing his ruthlessness to any Night Fury that he came across. By adding the twins messing around with the skull without relizing shows how serious they need to take this. And before anyone says "But this will terrify kids and give them nightmares!" Buddy! The last movie had Stoick The Vast killed right in front of the audiance, and don't get me started on the Race to the Edge seires. Anyways, thats all I'm gonna say on this, Thank you for reading this if you've gotten this far, and hjave a good day/evening.

To be honest, I did not watch any HTTYD movies beyond the first one and given how many bad things I heard about the third one, I think I would just skip it. The thing that stood out to me while I was reading a plot synopsis is that the third film seems to treat dragons like animals, when the first one treated them like people. I'm not sure if it was a deliberate attempt to cheapen the bonds between humans and dragons by making these bonds akin to those shared between pets and owners so that breaking of these bonds in the end would be more believable, or if the underlying massage was just too obviously harmful when the dragons were a stand-in for "people different from you". *cough*Racial segregation*cough*. Overall, I'm disappointed but not surprised with how this movie turned out. It was not the first time when I've seen a major character's character development be reset with each new movie in a series. Thank the gods for fanfiction! Thank you Actually, I have more to say: 14:06 I think It's fine if they grow beyond needing each other, but stay together because they *want* to. Because they like each other and like to be together. 16:33 Why exactly *doesn't* he know about wild dragon society, by the way? Toothless was old enough to participate in the raid when Hiccup shot him, even if we presume that his parents were unable to teach him the dragon ways for whatever reason, there's still plenty of other dragons in Red Death's flock for him to learn from!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This movie made me so impossibly upset, and I really really appreciate you making this well put together critique. I also really appreciate your ending too. I can't believe how much they butchered the characters. My heart was so broken by this movie, and I really appreciate you putting together a much more thoroughly thought out ending. Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This is actually one of the best videos on KZbin. So well done from beginning to end. And your rewrite was excellent. Yes, I want to teach my kids that kindness goes a long time way, kinda like how Disney's Cinderella did it with the mice. Cinderella helped the mice so they helped Cinderella. And that was beautiful.

The idea of exploring other dragon riders is something i had hoped to see in the third movie. Httyd 2 made the world feel bigger, upon leaving Berk for the first time and discoveirng new islands in the skies, but httyd 3 seemed to shrink it again. I wished they would've begun to seek human life on these islands, promoting their ways at the beginning instead of fighting dragon-trappers for a change of pace, before these foreigners and new dragon species arise at the end to save the day, proving that- as you said- the world can be changed through action.

35:00 Biggest Thing that I hate about all the dragons leaving is this: 1. not all dragons can fly 2. Not all dragons can just uproot and go to a completely different environment 3. Some dragons need specific environments (snow or whatever else. You can’t put a polar bear in the Sahara desert and expect it to be okay.) 4. There have been pre-established civilizations that RELY on dragons (Defenders of the wing and the wing maidens)

So late to this video but I gotta say, your ending would have literally saved the movie. Even as butchered as the characters were before that point, your ending would have saved it. ALSO I want to point out that it's literally impossible for all the dragons across the entire world to have retreated to the Hidden World not only because of the limit to Toothless' vocals, BUT ALSO because it's been established that SOME DRAGONS CAN'T EVEN FLY. (Speed Stingers, for example.) Or what about dragons that fill a very specific niche and literally can't survive on a different island? What about dragons that are adapted to very specific environments? What about dragons that eat other dragons? Is he calling those ones to live in the hidden world too? Either the populations are getting decimated or the dragon eating dragon is getting obliterated by the dragons that don't want to be prey. (You know, how it tends to go irl?) And that's not even getting into the disabled dragons that Valka takes care of that were shown in the second movie with some of them being blind, missing limbs, etc. I'm 90% certain that Valka acknowledged in the second movie that those disabled dragons needed humans(her) to survive after what Drago did to them. So I guess a bunch of disabled dragons that Valka was taking care of just end up dying shortly after getting to the hidden world, assuming they even can get there in the first place. Like, honestly, did the writer's of the third movie even watch the previous two movies and the series? Or the "shorts"? Or were they just given characters and the "gist" of what happened? I wanted so badly for this to be a good movie when I saw the trailers, and the final product was such a disappointment. (Also it totally would have been better if the lightfury was just another nightfury. And if they really wanted to go with her being white, could they not have made her an albino nightfury which could realistically be something trappers would want because of how rare and valuable something like that would be?? Or even to just make Toothless a melanistic lightfury, that could've been a cool twist! But no, they had to go the separate species route.)

The way they just let the dragons go and toothless just leaving, is just, SHIT!, IT IS CALLED, HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, NOT HOW TO THROW THE ENTIRE CONCEPT IF THE FIRST TWO MOVIES AND JUST THROW IT IN THE GARBAGE BY MAKING THE DRAGONS LEAVE, THE FIRST TWO MOVIES WERE ABOUT HICCUP AND TOOTHLESS'S FRIENDSHIP, THIS MOVIE BREAKS THAT, THAT SPARKLY FLYING BELUGA WHALE RUINED IT!

Ive watched the first and second movies many times. Only watched fhe third once. In theaters. I dont think it is GARBAGE but definitely the weaker of all entries in the series (minus the nine realms) I see what they were trying to do but it really does show too much how the light fury was a plot point. Plus ngl, i felt it was so bad that she was shown early on to be part of the main villains plans. I feel it would've been so much better if he discovered her later and THEN decides to use her as a trap. Otherwise it just feels like she was willingly working with him. HELL SHE EVEN STOPS TOOTHLESS FROM STEPPING ON A FUCKING TRAP. Otherwise it truly feels the rest was... Too safe. The moment with the Light Fury was indeed the only moment i truly went "THATS HTTYD". And yeah... The comedy wasnt balanced or landed at all. HOW WAS ROUGHNUT DUMB ENOUGH TOJUST FLY HOME AND LEAD THE ENEMY??? It just didnt hit the mark for me. But is still okay imo.

This comment is just a silly nitpick about the toothless being king thing just a opinionated rant... Yeah even if toothless will be the alpha of all dragons he would probably get killed by another dragon the next day or week and take his place I get it toothless had killed 1 alpha dragon and blown a tusk off another but they were slow dragons and barley reached his speed What happens when toothless tries to fight or gets ambushed by a dragon with similar speed stats as him but better strength than him I'm sorry but there is no way there would be no dragons attempting to kill and overthrow him

i get the feeling that they wanted to make the third movie more closer to the books, which isn't necessarily a bad idea, but it doesn't work, because the movies are so fundamentally different from the books that they can't even be considered as the same franchise. The names and some of the relations are the same, but that's honestly about it. Astrid doesn't even exist in the books, although it's obvious what character inspired Astrid, but that character isn't even from the same tribe as Hiccup! The whole "we don't deserve you dragons" thing makes sense in the books, because in the books, dragons are treated as working animals that are no better than actual slaves, despite having their language and everything that vikings are able to learn, but refuse to, because they see dragons as beneath them. And the vikings way of "training" the dragons in the books is literally to just yell at them. That's it. Just yell. The relationship between dragons and vikings is very much NOT equal in the books. In the movies and related shows, they're treated more as beloved pets, which i also kind of have my issue with bc i would honestly prefer to have them be treated as FRIENDS, because that's what Toothless and Hiccup very obviously are, if not even closer. Every other vikng though appears to treat their dragon(s) as little more than we would treat like a pet dog. Cute and friendly, but nothing more. Which is such a disservice to the dragons if you ask me, because before they made friends with them, dragons were a massive threat to the vikings. They literally have an entire book detailing how each kind of dragon KILLS. So yes, they're good-natured and maybe not as much of a threat anymore now that they don't HAVE to raid villages anymore, but they're far from harmless and i don't like how that got completely forgotten by EVERYONE.

Oh I am so late to this video, but Berk being overcrowded is something I will never get over. In first film, we were shown that it's quite large, and there are multiple other islands around. But all of the characters are braindead and don't understand the concept of colonization, something that actual Vikings were really good at. Maybe they could contact different tribes that still have conflicts with dragons and teach them the ways of the dragon riders. My second problem is that I find it hard to belive this gigantic dragon pack would have any problems flying over to the Warlords and Grimmel and nuking their base. They don't even have their own dragon army like Drago had. The Deathgrippers are dangerous, but i doubt Grimmel has more than 10 of them.

The third film gives me the feeling of being a weird fan-fic, someone who really wanted to make a story where things go wrong in the end for some reason. And I remember a long time ago seeing fans on the internet making drawings of white and smoother Night Furies as a companion for Toothless, it's not an original idea at all, to the point where when I saw images of the third film for the first time I was unsure if it was real or if it was some fan edit.

I agree except with the idea that hiccup should have been happy at the end of the second movie because he had everything. That's not how grief works. He just lost the person who raised him, who he's known all his life. You don't just get over that because you have other great stuff going on in life. A loss like that leaves a hole and you won't be able to fill it for years.
