What are the minimal requirements for an Xj to complete ether rubicon trail? Novice wheeler 😊
@blondejon8328 күн бұрын
Id say at least 31s , but to be comfortable , 33s and a locker . Youll work hard either way, but one locker will help a ton. You can do it open open , but you better have tow points. I personally would want 33s and a locker, 33s and two lockers, or 35s and at least one locker. Thats just me. That being said, some Day i want to do it in my little blue jeep and put 31s and a front arb in it and see how it does.

Killer video Jon, you will get there soon I’m sure of it. My advice would be go with the DJI cameras, I got tired of all the GoPro issues and sold all mine and bought a DJI action 5 pro and it’s much better, no bugs or glitches, doesn’t shut down from being too hot or cold, no corrupt file issues.

Are you allowed to possess firearms while on the trail. Obviously, not use them unless absolutely necessary in a self defense situation.
@blondejon83Ай бұрын
Its legal to have them in your rig as long as you store them under normal california law. ( ammo seperate ) . There is no real safe place to shoot on the Rubicon, its full of granite, and there people in every direction, so the normal national forest shooting rules apply, dont shoot on flat ground without a dirt backdrop , or into rock, into a camp , across a road, across water, or in a direction where there might be people( hikers, campers, etc) . I go to other parts of the national forest to plink, not the the rubicon

You might of saved me months of headache i have been having.. Jeep Jl is 100% 90 degree to 6 degree of caster.. I currently have it set to that with my upper and lower adjustable control arms. I have the same klein angle finder as well. However, based on reading on forums i thought less than 90 degree on the pumpkin equated to less caster. I read on multiple forums more than 90 was more caster.. Tell me that i have reversed the degrees on the pumpkin, if so i will thank you my friend forever lol.. FYI you are the only guy who has made a video that fixed all my problems in regard to this critical information. Lastly, what have you set your front and rear upper and lower control arm to? as in lengths in inches? thank you!!
@blondejon83Ай бұрын
Im running drop brackets in the rear so not sure if that will help you? Unless you have the metalcloak drop brackets in the rear too?
@blondejon83Ай бұрын
And positive caster is with the axle tilted backwards , so if youre at 90*, youll want to shorten the ucas or lengthen the lcas to get caster from say 6* to 7* and have the axle tilt backwards. Tilting forwards means less caster
@JeepulaАй бұрын
@@blondejon83Thanks for the response, i got full adjustable arms in the rear as well.
@JeepulaАй бұрын
@@blondejon83so the problem for me was shortening the uca is limited since it can only go about 19 1/4” but doing that and keeping lca to 24 3/8 gave me 90 degree of caster.. Now since i saw your video, i believe bringing the uppers back to the 20s and lengthening the lowers will definitely bring back the positive caster.. One important question, i have the 2024 4xe Rubicon, it has a setting of 4H Auto, meaning it is almost like awd but when wide open throttle it engages the front driveshaft for full power.. Do you think this would be an issue if i set the caster more than 6 degrees?
@blondejon83Ай бұрын
It could be , but how often are you going To use awd? You could always try it out, and if it vibes badly on road, maybe you sacrifice caster for pinion angle. Caster and pinion angle are always a trade off
