Where do you get the 60 deg from. Im assuming its for a 6 cylinder engine. So for other types Ie. 4 cyl and 8 cyl the number is different?
@MadRacingParts10 күн бұрын
60 degrees is two of the 12 magnets as they are 30 degrees apart. 4,6 or 8 cylinders use the same instructions.

I’m clearly that person in the back lol. I’ve gone through set the motor to top dead center just as the instructions say to do manage to get the car to start the other night and now nothing. I said the sensor to black squares past the red square so I know I’ve got something jacked up. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
@MadRacingParts6 ай бұрын
The red square is your missing magnet. This should align with the sensor when your timing pointer is at 60 degrees BTDC.

@@MadRacingParts mind being an LS engine. I’m getting cylinder one at top dead center which on the ATI damper is slightly off to the right of center. I have my pointer pointing at TC and my sensor lined up on the second black square/diamond after the third which is the red square/diamond by either one that’s missing. Setting up like that the instructions is what I thought I was supposed to do, but I feel like I have the ignitionoff and I am scratching my head because I know it’s simple and I’m just looking too into it. Thank you for your help.

While that may also be correct your wording is confusing and you are making it harder than it needs to be. Put the engine at 60 btdc and follow the video. Red is the missing magnet.

Thanks for a great video. My pro dash is not turning on at all. I have wired it the way you said and still nothing, have you experienced this?

Excellent tip! My set up does not have adequate access for a feeler gauge. Thanks AGAIN for your "tip" with the ECU crimpers. 😉

I knew it was done wrong, or Holley directions were terrible at explaining how to do a clean install to prevent this from happening.

Do as this man says. I had my car wired exactly like his diagram for ease of a power lug on the firewall and my dash shut off when cranking. Moved the switch panel main power back to the rear shut off like he said and problem gone. Thanks a ton!! New car build and little gremlins like this will drive u nuts.

Solid rundown. Do you connect your starter power wire directly to the battery (fused of course) or to the “output” of the battery disconnect like you have in your diagram? I'm curious if the system will still see the voltage/amp spikes you described if the starter is connected to the same cutoff output as your electronics the way you have it in your diagram.
@MadRacingParts3 жыл бұрын
No it doesn't see the voltage drop.
@theholleyefiguy3 жыл бұрын
good explanation on voltage drop. something to add to it. all power comes from ground. the circuit length is double. the biggest thing i see that people miss is the ground is improper. also, not all master switches and relays are the same. a ford style starter solenoid will kill voltage and as voltage decreases amperage increases (im not telling you cause i know you already know this just kinda explaining my thought process on it ) on a electric motor, i.e. starter.
