Hey hi, thanks for the cool videos! would you please write here, what do you use to have the ref pic on top of the max window?

Its insane that in 2024 we still don't have the option to scale faces/verts using an input number value. edit: nvm there is a way!

How to move a copy with a given distance?
@TonyJaboneyАй бұрын
I started to use the array tool for that. I believe this is the only way to do a precise distance input while copying Tools > Array While in the array tool window you can change your gizmo alignment to the object if you want. I come from Rhino so I'm completely baffled that this kind of function isn't in the move tool

Great tutorial, thank you! I am new to 3DS Max and am wondering how you make the walls/roof see through so you can interact with the objects inside of the room? Thanks, Luke

There used to be a setting when installing MAX to decide whether using the scale tool should affect the parameters directly or leave them as 'incorrect' after scaling and just affect the multiplier. Can anyone identify this setting (it alleviates this issue )

Great video, thanks. Do you know how to edit the thickness of multiple cuves at once? I have got many curves (100+) in my scene and I need to change the thickness of each one, but at the moment I can only do it one by one. Is there a way to do them all at once?

Great tutorial! :) thanks again. I'm trying the trick you showed us to move the object, or in this case the wall without the gizmo by zooming in to where i want to eyeball it. But i can't seem to make the object move in whichever direction i want. It forces me to either go straight left, straight right or straight up and down. Is there something that I need to toggle off for it work to like it did in your video? Thank you.

Your tutorials are amazing! Thank you so much. I have learned the basics of 3dmax years ago but was never able to apply them in my work. Now I'm revisiting the software to add this skill to my portfolio and your tutorials are so comprehensive, clear and simple. Again, lots of thanks to you. :)

Hello! Thank you so much for the tutorial. It's very clear :) I have one question though. I'm trying to create a line on the top plane/face of a box. This box is not a perfect rectangle, let's say it's like an L shape. I start my line at one endpoint of the top face of this box (the snap tool is on and has grid points and vertex and edge/segment checked) and I draw the line and click on another endpoint of the top face of the box. But now instead of continuing the line to reach another endpoint, I want to take this line perpendicularly and click on the edge of the top plane parallel to where my endpoint is. Eventually I'll be creating a u-shape line on the top plane of the L-shape box (the point is i'm trying to create a wall and i wish to modify the number of the outline of this line to 20cm for example and then extrude it). Except I can't snap the line from one end to the other like it works on AutoCad with the assistant dashed line that helps you in finding the perpendicular point on the other end. I've seen a tutorial doing exactly this on 3dmax but I can't seem to figure out how to do it myself. I'm not sure if my question is clear. I'm hoping you can help me. Thank you.

You may try Autogrid in Command Panel, and then create rectangle first later delete the two edges you don't need by converting it to Editable Spline! Hope it helps!?

Hi! Thank you for the great tutorials I've learned a lot from your videos. I have a question I couldn't find the answer to; when I apply loft to the line, the mesh around the object is not divided equally. There seems to be a type of scaled division because the mesh grids scale down when reaching the top of the object. I'd be really happy if you could help. Thanks again!
