The show that got away! I lived about 20 or minutes north of New Haven in Meriden, CT. I used to go to the Moon all the time. I was a high school senior at the time, and I recall specifically passing on this show. "Nirvana who?" I played at th Moon a couple times during their Monday open mic nights. I was terrible, but it's fun to think I played on the same stage in the same little New Haven club as one of the most innovative and transformative bands of my generation. Sure I had gotten off my ass and gone to the show -- and I can't even imagine what stupid thing I did instead.

Kurt's rise to fame is what ultimately ended him. Had nirvana stayed underground with moderate success I believe he would have been still alive today. But again he was a complicated guy, nobody really knew what he wanted.

THIS is the sound of Nirvana live. The distortion and chaos is what what made them great. Thanks for the video whoever recorded this. An amazing moment in time. I was there the year before, but both sets are incredible.

It’s more perfect than the album, done with money spent in studio and it is more perfect than every live concert and gig done , with frustration expressed, with , destruction of musical instruments, more perfect than that, its initial inception is the purest form of expression. But to attract people to watch , because there may be money available, because of that .
