Those wheels are pulleys. The pinch rollers are elsewhere. I guess these were a lot cheaper a couple of years ago. They go for like $50-$75 working now. Cassettes have really made a comeback.

Hey , how did you get the screen on the ps2 to be bigger aspect ratio? The OSSc makes my ps2 have a vertical box in middle with huge black borders like old crtv . I’m not sure why it won’t fill my monitor screen more wide ? Thanks Connor

If you are still following your post... I have an old (broken) SHURE stylus. doesn't look at all like yours, and doesn't look like the ones I see in pictures that they say is the correct replacement. Not sure how to get a new stylus to work. Any advice? thanks.

Still got mine. Versatile and still relevant. Use four strand cable. The centre is not necessary in my view. The settings are amazing. You can change the size of the room/intensity. With four speakers it works well and with floor standers the power/bass is amazing. Read the manual. You can alter the power outputs from the back. That trim will boost input signals like a preamp.

Thanks so much for this, your video is awesome. My dad just gave me his record player- it’s identical to this one, same model. Came wanting to learn about what all of the settings are. That repair kit for the lid is very awesome- I’m going to get a RCA to HDMI signal box so can connect it to my sound bar. 👍👍

My first real quality turntable, purchased in 1976. Gave it away years later when I upgraded to a Technics direct drive table. I purchased a used "parts only" SL-23 this year. Cleaned the pots and a new belt = good as new. The SL-23 is a fine performing turntable, performs far better than its low cost might suggest. I've run various Audio-Technica, Shure and Grado cartridges on the SL-23 - always have been pleased. If you want to get a good quality vintage table, this is a good choice. Dependable, easy to set up and use - the only downside is you need to clean the speed pots every few years.

I own a Technics SL-D5 turntable that I bought in the 1980's and love, however due to many moves through the years the dust cover has either broken and thrown out or lost (can't really remember which). I am in desperate need of a cover and have not been able to find a cover for it due to it's uniqueness. Is there anyone out there who might know where I can acquire one? Thanks for listening.

Thanks for the help! I needed to make my own adapter for my old consoles that use component so I used female contacts instead. Didn't even do any soldering, just twist the leads together and cover with shrink tubing and then wrap the monstrosity in electrical tape. 👍

Flying erase head is that the erase head is on the rotating drum rather than stationary. This is so you get clean editing (no color bars/ noise between edits). The glass circuit board modules power supply capacitors and surface mounted capacitors are the most common problems with these. If the glass modules are bad they cannot be fixed or obtained these days, so make sure these are good if you buy one of these.

Hi Joel, this was a nice video, and i came across it after a couple of years. So , tentatively, i assume it must be 2 years now, and do you still have it. As i wanted to check with you whether the lense overtime is still good enough and do you find any skipping issues while playing songs as the md player seems from the late 90s era. Just want to know your thoughts on whether it is worth investing. As you rightly said, today, mds are available at ridiculous prices, saying that the player / lense should also have a good life.
@joelsdiy94692 ай бұрын
Probably not. Their quality is comparable to a well ripped MP3. These are just for posterity as far as my video. Plus the discs are kind of expensive! No one that I know makes mini disc albums. Thanks for watching!
