Enjoy brah. Just be careful please. I'm 64 now, born and raised in the islands. Been diving , fishing and surfing my entire life. Started diving with my Dad around 1965. Of course I support your diving for the awesome experience and fun, and all the good kau kau for family and friends. I have seen over my lifetime the changes in the fish and lobster etc., all over the different Hawaiian islands. Understand that with social media and of course the go pro, that showing this, will exponentially accelerate the rapid depletion of each area. Teaching people, or cool friends, personally and taking them out with you is great. But, the amount of people doing this on KZbin etc., now, is massively problematic! I hate to say it, but basically, it's too late now. The cat's out of the bag so to speak. I lived where you are, for a very long time, long ago when it was an uncrowded and heavily enforced and protected, close kept and quiet secret. We knew how good we had it, and being born and raised we became alarmed by the influx of outsiders moving in. It's turned into something now that is out of control. Not your fault! You seem like a cool kid. Believe me, I know intimately the islands from the Big isle all the way up through the leeward isles to midway island. I have had many boats and spent my lifetime in an on the ocean in this incredible isolated place in the Pacific. Perhaps you could research just how old Hawaiian spiny lobster are by the time you take one?!! You may be surprised. Once an area becomes depleted, and continues to have pressure put on it, then it will show!!! It takes so long for the larvae to go through the life cycle, to become legal size, and the really big bull lobster are older than you!!!.. people can just be people and often don't exercise good practices in things like this. You're doing it right, but perhaps you can consider educating people how old they are, and how easy the resource can be depleted, then it can never catch up. I've been doing this my entire life. I choose to practice and emulate the ancient Hawaiians and the kapu system, ensuring that they never pressured one , by letting them rest and replenish regularly. If you're interested, lmkn. I'd be happy to correspond with you and share my knowledge with you. Plus we'd enjoy sharing stories. Like I said, I know just how special it is, and fortunately still is for you. I've been so blessed spending my life in the ocean in this wonderful place. BTW, how's the Wana been to you? It hurts!!!!😂 be careful. Puhi too! Aloha

Dove all over there, and fished, all the way up to the top of the leeward isles. Early 70's and on through 80's. It was so uncrowded in the 70's and just amazing!!!!!!! Tube riding heaven and back then I commonly was doing it with just a friend or two, often all by myself and no people for miles and miles!!!!! Heaven on earth! So stoked and blessed to have been doing that back then!!! Fiercely guarded secret back then by the boys!!!!!! No ka oi!!! Ono kau kau!!!!... So blessed!!!!! Never be like that again sadly.... yeah just awesome! Enjoy, but too bad it's not been a secret for soooo loong now. Malama the aina. Please kokua. Aloha!

It's crazy how different fish act in different regions in the red sea you need to be so careful not to make any noise to catch mu but in Hawaii you just dive bomb them
