Did you stay at a hilton property for that 50 dollar quarterly credit to pay for that brunch? If not, do you remember what wording or coding it had in the transaction like “Hilton -*place of brunch*” or “*place of brunch* - hilton” thanks im trying to test a theory
@theluxurytravellers6 күн бұрын
fantastic question!!!
@theluxurytravellers6 күн бұрын
No, you do not need to stay at a hotel for this credit. If you are staying at a hilton hotel, your $50 credit would be applied to the bill (guest folio) upon checkout. For us, we live walking distance to a hilton and we love their brunch so we use our credit there once a quarter. We use the $200 twice a year credit from our aspire to cover massages at a different Hilton hotel :)

@@theluxurytravellers So do the brunch and the massage trigger the 12x on your Hilton Surpass and 14x on your Hilton Aspire. I am wondering and dipping my toes in these cards. I am mainly a foodie and want to use the Surpass as a supplemental food card with those credits as there are a lot of restaurants in the area that isn't covered by the amex credit you get from the amex gold. I ultimately want to end up getting the SUB for surpass and then applying for gold when I want to make a big purchase (I am a college student that does not average 1000 a month in spending for the SUB of amex gold but would benefit from the categories of spend.)

The reason this trip was affordable was because of using our credit card points. More specifically, transferring them to airline and hotel partners. Our flights were over $44k to italy in suites and we paid $500 total (just taxes) since we used points. For the hotels all covered with points (FREE) except for two. We saved over $60K because of transferring points. If we can do it so can you :)

How do you know when it will be lie flat Seats? I heard that sometimes the business class from European flights isn’t what you would expect, so maybe not lie flat? I didn’t know if that applies to airfrance and klm? I’m totally new to this but I would love to plan my first trip to Europe!
@theluxurytravellers2 ай бұрын
For domestic flights (INTER-european), European airlines offer a lesser product than US airlines. Not even recliner first class seats, but they take the first few rows of economy and block off the middle seat. Lie-flat (we can help you determine which are lie-flat, it's a free extension for google searches). Air France/KLM/British Airways/etc offer lie flat for longer flights (typically international but to different continents.

It's normally against your credit card's user agreement to buy gift cards at places to get a higher cashback rate on daily purchases where you'd earn a lower rate. You're supposed to buy other stuff with the gift cards so your purchase doesn't end in a nice round number that screams "I bought gift cards" because if they think you are, your card will get cancelled

The way we use and recommend credit cards is to pay off monthly in full and to limit credit utilization rate to 10% or less.
