To be clear, Mary committed suicide after the events outlined in "Electric Requiem". Yes, there is a Mindcrime 2. From an excerpt of it's Wikipedia page, the story is as follows: The story picks up eighteen years after the events of Operation: Mindcrime, starting on the day that Nikki is released from prison. During his incarceration, Nikki has been unable to let go of his hatred for Dr. X, a manipulator who has remained rich and powerful within the massively corrupt society around him. Nikki still harbors resentment against the American government in particular, which he still views as autocratic and greedy, being simply beyond saving. The training to kill and powerful brainwashing that Nikki had received from Dr. X still has a strong hold over him, with his sanity still much in doubt, but Nikki feels conflicted nonetheless. While he still greatly desires revenge upon Dr. X and wants to see a revolutionary change in his decrepit society, his thoughts drift to Mary. Nikki lands himself in trouble with the law once again. During his trial, his pleas for mercy and leniency are lost on a judge and jury still remembering his past crimes. This only deepens his disdain for the world around him, with Nikki mulling over the government, the legal system, and Dr. X as he blames all three for all of his problems. After Nikki escapes and finds himself yet again on the run, his own need for revenge coupled by a vision of Mary's ghost (it is initially unclear if this spectre actually exists or is merely a product of Nikki's mind breaking with reality) turns his thoughts toward killing Dr. X. As a final confrontation gets closer, Nikki starts to have more doubts. He questions himself and wonders if he should own up to the fact that it's also his fault that his life is as bad as it is. Nikki tracks down Dr. X, beginning a dramatic chase, and Nikki finally kills him when the seminal moment comes. Yet the murder seems to fail to bring Nikki the solace that he so wants. Wondering whether the killing has really made anything better, Nikki is further consumed by doubt and despair. Mary's ghost appears again and confronts Nikki. He starts to think that he has crossed the line into pure insanity, with the world holding no escape for his sadness, and he commits suicide. As the album ends, Nikki's spirit is reunited with Mary's, with it being revealed that they achieve some kind of happy end in the afterlife, and they reflect that the only times they were happy before were in the fleeting moments that they were together.

Operation Mindcrime NEEDS to be a movie! Preferrably with Keanu Reeves as Nikki, Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. X, Liam Neeson as Father William, and Victoria Justice as Sister Mary. Don't know who Keith David would be, but he definitely has to be in it...

Hi. New sub. Question: You realized that the house you guys are moving out of is quite paranormally active, right? Watching some of your Coheed and Cambria videos, I can see orbs and light anomalies floating around constantly. One of your Unheavenly creatures masks even gets moved. Just wondering if that's why you guys moved out of there. Cheers !

I was writing a long comment with my story, but it was deleted, so I'll just say I feel very lonely as a female metalhead. I was trying to communicate with other metalheads in my teens, but none of them were friendly enough and were trying to making fun of me from different reasons (like a correct band pronounce or my photos). Now I'm an adult and afraid to try again. P.S. About the band pronounce: I was right then, but who cares P.P.S. Sorry for the grammar, I'm not a native speaker

I enjoyed the interpretation! I revisited this album after reading a book that reminded me of the album. If you’re into horror, the book is Piñata by Leopoldo Gout 👍🏽

In my experience, people at smaller shows seem a lot nicer and more inclusive than people at shows for (relatively) mainstream bands. There's less of that "name three songs" energy, everyone is just there to have a good time and support some good bands. There's way more normies who don't believe I'm into metal. I guess I dress pretty normie most days but what does that have to do with my music tastes?

watching a bunch of videos as I make my own vest INSPIRED by battle vests. I don't listen to metal or even a lot of rock but back in 2019 and 2020 I started a jacket for myself to wear full of paintings and pins that meant a lot to me. It's mostly political and just generally things I enjoy. I have friends who do listen to this music and have vests like this so recently decided to re-do mine with recent issues and new patches I've collected that I did not have the first time. I don't currently own patches of any bands I like but do have one from my favorite author, one that is dnd related, and one of a musical I like. Hoping to find/make some patches for The crane wives, Chappell Roan, Marina, Lemon Demon, Will Wood, The Dresden Dolls, Mother Mother, and some other musicals I love. does anyone know where I would be able to find these? Edit: making mine as colorful as possible and the entire back is painted with my pride flags as a base. getting it ready enough for a concert coming up of a band I don't know well but it's my girlfriend's favorite band. Wanting my clown vest ready to wear among the battle jackets.

Operation Mindcrime came out when I was in high school. I remember listening to it and thinking wow great songs love it then I pulled the lyric sheet out and started to follow along and my mind was BLOWN. I was so fortunate to see them open for Metallica on the Damage Justice tour and then the Empire tour with the full OMC play through with the video and stage show...was so freaking EPIC!!!!! I still listen to it in full several times a year such a perfect album musically, lyrically, story, timing, sounds effects etc absolute MASTERPIECE!

A pretty cool metal memory for me involving women from my college days was when this beautiful Japanese girl, Yoshika, came up to me and started inquiring about my musical taste. I kind of hemmed and hawed, because I was sure telling her the sort of music I liked would be a conversation ender, but then she was like, "So the first CD I ever bought was Angra." Looking at her, nothing screamed "metalhead" but she was a huge fan of metal and a pretty cool person.
