I've had 2 sets if technics and yes they are great turntables. However before the trend of customising 12 s to service them were a pain and time consuming. I got tired if a lamp blow out and ground cables popping out. I cannot afford a new set of 12s as for a set of these would be 2500 a pair for just the standard edition ,now don't get me wrong I love technics and I've heard some really bad reviews on these but I think it's down to live and die hard fans of technics and I get it but time moves on and if I can test these before I buy it's a no brainer for me.just saying.

How the hell is that a full service! I service and customise technics turntables myself and I can't believe what I have just seen! You rest the turntable on its tonearm... it take five minutes to remove the 3x screws holding the arm to the deck, I take it you check to see if the weight of the deck hasn't bent or scratched the arm afterwards??? You also used foam cleaner around the deck quite freely without even covering over the internal components! I completely remove everything when doing a service and clean every inch. What about the fact you never removed the pitch control connector from the mainboard when calibrating the pitch slider?? That's a big no no! Sorry but if this video was made by yourselves I would take it down..

Technics (brand) Technics Technics logo.svg Native name テクニクス Industry Electronics Founded 1965 (brand revived in 2014 by Panasonic) Headquarters Kadoma, Osaka, Japan Key people Fumio Ohtsubo, president Products DJ sets, headphones, synthesizers, turntables Parent Panasonic Corporation Slogan Ideas for Life. Website www.technics.com/ Technics (テクニクス Tekunikusu?) is a brand name of the Panasonic Corporation, a company that produces a variety of electronic products. Under the brand name Technics, the company produced a variety of hi-fi products, such as turntables, amplifiers, receivers, tape decks, CD players and speakers for sale in various countries. It was conceived for a line of high-end audio equipment to compete against brands such as Nakamichi. From 2002 onwards, products have been rebranded Panasonic except in Japan and the former Soviet Union, where the brand remains in high regard. In Europe and the USA, the brand continues to be applied to DJ equipment, electronic pianos and micro Hi-Fi systems. History Technics was introduced as a brand name for premium loudspeakers marketed domestically by Matsushita in 1965. The name came to wider prominence with the international sales of direct-drive turntables. In 1969, Technics launched the SP-10, the first direct-drive model for the professional market, followed in 1971 by the SL-1100 for the consumer market. The SL-1100 was used by the influential DJ Kool Herc for the first sound system he set up after emigrating from Jamaica to New York.[1] This latter model was the predecessor to the SL-1200 which, as the upgraded SL-1200 MK2, became a widely used turntable by DJs. A robust machine, the SL-1200 MK2 incorporated a pitch control mechanism (or vari-speed), and maintained a relatively constant speed with low variability, which proved popular with DJs. The SL-1200 model, often considered the industry standard turntable, continued to evolve with the M3D series, followed by the MK5 series in 2003. Despite being originally created to market their high-end equipment, by the early 1980s Technics was offering an entire range of equipment from entry-level to high-end. In 1972, Technics introduced the first autoreverse system in a cassette deck in its Technics RS-277US and in 1973 it introduced the first three-head recording technique in a cassette deck (Technics RS-279US). In 1976, Technics introduced two belt-driven turntables for the mass market, the SL-20 and SL-23. The principal difference between the two models was the addition, in the SL-23, of semi-automatic operation and an adjustable speed control with built-in strobe light. They offered technical specifications and features rivalling much more expensive turntables, including well-engineered s-shaped tonearms with tracking weight and anti-skate adjustments. At the time they were introduced the SL-20 and SL-23, which sold for $100.00 and $140.00, respectively, set a new performance standard for inexpensive turntables.[2]

Hystory of TECHNICS 1965 Illustration of Technics 1 Technics 1 The first model to feature the Technics brand, Technics 1 was a sealed, two-way speaker system. While compact, the system attained bass comparable to standard floor-standing speaker systems. 1966 Illustration of Technics 10A Technics 10A The 10A was the first stereo preamplifier in the Technics series. Comprising an amplification section with two-stage NF circuitry, the amplifier achieved lower distortion and great dynamic range. 1966 Illustration of Technics 20A Technics 20A The Technics 20A was the first power amplifier in the Technics brand. This high-power amplifier used twenty 50HB26 pentode tubes and OTL circuitry, which was exceptional for the time. 1968 Illustration of Technics 30A Technics 30A As an improvement over the Technics 10A, the Technics 30A achieved unprecedented low distortion and an improved signal-to-noise ratio by using a unique SEPP method. Furthermore, the 30A boasted an entirely new, innovative RIAA circuit design. 1969 Illustration of Technics 50A Technics 50A The Technics 50A was a transistor integrated amplifier that culminated from the tube amplifier development technology of Technics. Its newly adopted OCL method later became the mainstream for transistor amplifiers of many companies. 1970 Illustration of SP-10 SP-10 The SP-10 was the world's first direct-drive turntable and created a new era in audio. It eliminated the vibration and rotation irregularity caused by the previous belt-drive method, and was delivered to broadcast stations even though it was designed as a consumer product. It also greatly influenced other audio equipment. 1972 Illustration of SL-1200 SL-1200 The SL-1200 was the first in a series of direct-drive turntables with an established reputation for stable rotation. The series remained in production for nearly 40 years and became a staple of the DJ culture. 1972 Illustration of SU-10000 SU-10000 The SU-10000 was the pinnacle of preamplifiers. With the development of the first three-stage operation amplification in the equalizer stage, the SU-10000 was an industry-leading presence among high-end amplifier separates in Japan. 1972 Illustration of SE-10000 SE-10000 The SE-10000 was the world's first power amplifier using a high-capacity constant-voltage power supply. Its VU meters allowed direct readings of accurate peak values and later became standard. 1973 Illustration of SB-1000 SB-1000 The SB-1000 was the first three-way bookshelf speaker system in Japan that used a dome unit. The speaker system gained popularity due to its excellent cost performance. 1975 Illustration of Technics 7 (SB-7000) Technics 7 (SB-7000) This speaker system demonstrated the validity of Technics' unique linear phase theory. The system later influenced many speakers around the world. 1977 Illustration of SE-A1 SE-A1 The SE-A1 was a superlative power amplifier. Each channel had four power supplies, for a total of eight power supplies in an independent left and right construction. This completely DC Class-A+ amplifier even eliminated capacitors from the feedback circuitry. The output was 350 + 350 W. 1977 Illustration of SU-A2 SU-A2 The SU-A2 was a preamplifier with Class-A operation in all stages. The circuitry was completely DC. Achieving a signal-to-noise ratio of 95 dB (2.5 mV) for the phono input and equipped with UFE*, this high-sound-quality, multifunctional amplifier allowed every possible control. * UFE: Universal Frequency EQ 1977 Illustration of SB-10000 SB-10000 The SB-10000 was the ultimate linear phase, bass-reflex, three-way speaker system using horn-type units for the medium- and high-frequency ranges. In the development of this system, Japan-first and world-first advanced technology was unsparingly introduced. 1979 Illustration of SL-10 SL-10 The SL-10 was a fully-automated turntable loaded with Technics' turntable technology in the size of an LP record jacket (31.5 cm). Its design aspects were also highly acclaimed, and this turntable was acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. 1982 Illustration of SL-P10 SL-P10 The SL-P10 was Technics' first CD player. The dedicated circuitry consisted almost entirely of newly developed LSIs and ICs. Direct drive was achieved using a DD motor. 1986 Illustration of SB-RX50 SB-RX50 The SB-RX50 was a speaker system with units in a newly developed flat coaxial construction. The system attained excellent sound image localisation and flat frequency response by using separate baffling and other forms of vibration analysis. 1988 Illustration of SB-AFP1000 SB-AFP1000 The SB-AFP1000 was a superlative flat-panel speaker that used twin cabinets based on a unique acoustic theory. This speaker achieved highly faithful sound reproduction and was used by the Vienna State Opera. 1988 Illustration of SST-1 SST-1 The SST-1 was a twin load horn speaker system that achieved reproduction ability with higher efficiency and lower distortion. This system is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. 1989 Illustration of SL-Z1000 SL-Z1000 The SL-Z1000 was Technics' first separate CD player. To achieve highly faithful sound reproduction, the CD player used a construction with thorough vibration control. 1989 Illustration of SH-X1000 SH-X1000 The SH-X1000 was a digital processor with 1-bit MASH DA conversion in a three-chip configuration. The processor performed distortion-free reproduction of minute signals superimposed on low-level or large signals. 1995 Illustration of SB-M10000 SB-M10000 The SB-M10000 was a Kelton-Method floor-standing speaker system that originated from unique silence technology. The system achieved a highly faithful sound field with deep bass reproduction while reducing enclosure vibration. 1992 - 2000 Illustration of SE-A7000 SE-A7000 The SE-A7000 was a power amplifier with newly-developed MOS Class-AA circuitry, which used MOS FET inputs for the amplification elements of the voltage control amplifier and exhibited strength in faithful signal control with excellent high-frequency response. 1992 - 2000 Illustration of SU-C7000 SU-C7000 The SU-C7000 was a preamplifier that used a battery-driven power supply. With the effect of magnetic flux leakage eliminated by completely separating the AC power supply and the signal circuitry, sound quality was improved with thoroughly purified physical characteristics.

omg this is a bad example of doing a job. This is also not a 'FULL' but only a mear partial service! points I noticed:- 1. never turn the table upside down onto itself! Ever! use a support to protect the sensitive arm and gimbal mechanism. 2. you never cleaned out or even applied a contact cleaner to the pitch fader. You just wimmed over it with a multimeter for a resistance check. 3. you sprayed a cleaning agent over the chassis but had the circuit board fully exposed. Also never saw you air dust the board. Skimmed over the strobe and buttons than remove that section to clean gunk built in the crevices. 4. no fresh heat compound applied! 5. spindle was not removed, inspected or cleaned and re lubed. these are included in a FULL service. If this is what you claim a full service then people should know it's not. you only replaced the styli lamp, phono cable and re greased the hight adjustment followed with a quick wipe over and tweeked the pitch potentiometer. To me that is a repair and recalibration. Not as titled Full service.

@risquedj9 жыл бұрын
+Jesse Lopez-Gonzalez There are lots of differences. To be honest, the RZ has much more (and better) functionality than Serato's SZ. The biggest change is that the software effects are post fader on the RZ, whereas they are pre-fader only on the SZ. The software effects "sound" better than the Izotope effects that Serato uses. It has Pad Effects like the Vestax VCI-380 had. It has a simple (4 bar) sequencer. Also, the Oscillator Effects are user programmable now.

You did in the beginning, everything would be from the technics......you forgot the inside......\????sad...sad... You can give a nice spin on it......you only bought the looks. and were even to cheap to remake the old motor pcb. And the start-torque may be high....but the technics spins why more constant... Why don't you take a 1200mk2, bring it to modern standard, with the tone arm new and cable in one piece , just a new real balanced platter and new bearings...just the standard ones... Offcourse the technics has also shitty pcb's and lowgradecompents, but upgrade those to a normal modern unit. Not those wornout stuff, you buy everywhere on inet. And put also a standard vestax 3000mix next to it... pioneer dares to makes their monitors from plywoord... the fist gen with the remote, with asmall trafo, .... yeah that was good choice..... Like most pioneer stuff it's getting more and more plastic and you have good mixer ....for scratching, but on the long wrong it's rane...great faders, value lasting, since pioneer changes way to often.

They cost £500 - My last car cost 20k and won’t see the best part of 15/20 years. Have a bit of perspective and stop bitching about the small stuff.

Panasonic are technics, always have been. That's why the shops were Panasonic-technics centre. Technics ceased trading but Panasonic are relaunching the brand with the introduction of new equipment. Even a whisper that they may relaunch a new turntable. No doubt they want to sit back for now and see if the plx takes off before ploughing money in. Wise maybe but then if the plx becomes the industry standard then technics have a battle on their hands.

I've ran the checks and mines sound. technics have had issues in the past but that doesn't mean every deck. I use them daily and can find no faults, the sound is crystal and better then technics and my recordings sound great, maybe a bad batch over your side. either way I have both sets of decks and the fact of buying them is no different to four or five nights out on the piss means I lose no sleep. tried tested and I love them, all that matters
@keithparkhill83219 жыл бұрын
Shane Mcnair I have auditioned over eight various models by various companies over the past year and every one had the same defects and some much worse. This is a Hanpin of the same factory so I will assume the QA issues are no better. At these prices at least market prices its crazy to have products that have a more than 50 percent chance of being defective out of the box.
