found this passage pretty brutal tbh. what really tripped me up was that in the first sentence, it said that variations in cdkal impair insulin, then figure 3 and 4 suggest that no cdkal impairs insulins. It just seems a bit contradictory

I think if you got like half a year or more to study and you're aiming for a super high score, then Uworld is a good resource. But if not, I think it's a waste of time and money. Instead, focus on mastering every little detail in AAMC and learn how to read a passage quickly. Use fluid intelligence, not crystallized intelligence. You can only learn those skills with AAMC, not any other resource.

You couldn't have posted this at a better time. I just had a brutal CARS day after switching to AAMc from Jack Westin. The test is a month away. Is there a possibility for a video on how to improve CARS in a short amount of time?
@SethRamos-yz3bm10 күн бұрын
I was in a similar position transition from JW to AAMC. It depends what aamc passages ur doing I think. The first couple of cars practice I did from the vol 1 of aamc was brutal, at least for me transitioning from different resources. I think the best thing to get back on your feet is doing easier passages and regaining the confidence. What I did was I did some passages from uworld and even though I’m not a 100% on them, my timing and overall comprehension got way better from doing those easier passages. I would take like 20 minutes to understand the passage and do questions, but now Im getting it about 8 minutes for questions and passage.
@margaritaliubetskaya72949 күн бұрын
@@SethRamos-yz3bm I am doing the diagnostic package - the first few passages were 80 and 100. Then, around passage 4/5, I plummeted for the econ and political passages. But I find even with jack westin my score was unpredictable and I'm just getting nervous with the exam so close. Canadian applicant so cars needs to be a strong section.

Trust me, no matter how much you study, if you don't practice with AAMC passages, you won't improve. You need to learn to read quickly, understand the material, and find the answers within the passage. You don't need a lot of background knowledge. UWorld focuses more on knowledge than understanding the passage, and I don't find it very helpful. Their explanations are great, but they're way more advanced than what you need for the MCAT.
