The big wheel hasn’t been built yet, but will be completed in 2025. It will cost $35 a spin.

shame it never came to happen. mob tax was way too heavy for the people of empire outlets to consume.

Hi did you know the issue wasn’t due to lack of funding but rather a lack of crime control due to a mass influx of illegal migrants flooding our city and murdering our children

Hopefully the city can invest in more infrastructure for the north shore and Staten Island as a whole. We have one of the worst commutes in the country. We need rail service connecting us to the rest of the city, as well as to the NJ Path system. More affordable housing, and road work (especially on Richmond Terrace) Build it and they will come!

Staten Island is a dump honestly. Born and raised here and I think it’s why I’ve been depressed for the last 6-7 years of my life. I have to leave this place

It’s never going to get done. They canceled the project because they needed more funds from the city to complete it and the city denied

The parking lot is going to be underneath the actual structure, not underground as the mall and hotel are to be elevated

I'm 50 and I'm a native. As a life lone Islander, I actually remember my parents taking me to the opening day at the Staten Island Mall. It was memorable. Hopefully this will be just as big and amazing. On a personal note, the only down side for me is I work midnights and I'm about to lose my free parking spot once building starts. I currently park where the entrance to the outlet is going to be. I am very curious where they plan to put the parking because the streets and the surrounding area won't cut it.

Hopefully they also build an underground parking lot or something. The parking lots by the ferry are already full as well as the neighboring streets. Talk about congestion. We're about to be the borough that never sleeps, people!

Build It!!! Build It!!! Build It!!! There are so many advantages to this amazing idea, it will most certainly raise revenue for the borough and its people. There will be jobs and tourism. Both economically and socially it will be beneficial, so lets Build It!!! :D

I think this PRIVATELY FUNDED project will be a plus for Staten Island and Islanders. We are no longer the forgotten borough might as well get some benefits as far as revenue, jobs and revitalization of the North Shore. Hopefully a rail line will follow.
@stemikger9 жыл бұрын
Sal Morreale I agree. It's a no brainer. I take the Ferry daily and I can't believe how Staten Island didn't think if this sooner. I watch the tourist get off the Ferry only to go right back on the boat to go back to Manhattan. This will get them to go and spend some money. With such a captive audience, I can't imagine this failing. If I had the money, I would buy a condo in the area, in a few years, it is going to go up big time.

***** Well, they are putting quite a bit of the city's money toward this center. It's revenue may help fund future Sandy restoration through taxes. Idk I live in CA.
