I didn't mean to rant but I did, and to make it worse I didn't spell check. And while sometimes that's not so difficult to figure out, I use talk to text so, there's no telling what the errors might be. I'm like that, with the empathy thing. It's a scary thing to say out loud to people who don't understand your character, because they can assume that you're just a terrible person or perhaps that you don't understand the severity of some of these acts. I've never found anyone like me in that regard, and I wish I could have a conversation with one. I have questions and I would love be able to hear new perspectives and perhaps adopt them for a while if they fit. Empathy sympathy and compassion seem to have various definitions depending on who you're talking to. The way I see it though is that sympathy is a way of acknowledging and validating somebody's pain while still keeping a boundary up which is totally fine and many people need that for the health of their own inner systems. Then there's empathy which I've just never found to be a very... Good word? I mean, hear me out, if I come to a child who has just lost their parent and is afraid, the rules of empathy say that I would also be feeling their fear, or the sorrow of somebody grieving, And I just struggle with that because it seems to make it more about them than it does about the victim. I've known people who identify as empaths who have to leave when a person is going through a struggle because they are feeling it and, personally I think that sympathy and dare I even say pity have more usefulness in those situations. So I side with compassion. I'm not sure how everyone does it, but I feel that in an unconscious way I imagine the pain of others by relating it to something I have experienced which I know sounds incredibly self-centered, I know, but it's just that I've realized now after 35 years it seems to be what everybody kind of does. The hardest thing is when we have nothing to relate another person's pain to whatsoever, or even more dangerously, when we mistake the spectrum of our emotions for the spectrum of emotions capable of being felt. To understand that our worst pain is commonplace for others, it can be very humbling and honestly a bit overwhelming when you're coming at it from the perspective of someone who wants to help. Personally I feel like it has something to do with the level of apathy we see in the world. People just completely overwhelmed with the level of work that needs to be done, for the first time and in a very unnatural way in our evolution looking at these problems on a global scale and feeling absolutely minuscule. So many people struggle with feeling useless and depressed and I think that has a lot to do with the global community. We work and instead of seeing the immediate implications of that work in our small villages, they're just gone, and what have we done? And there's so much suffering all around us that's a signal of a sick and failing society, somehow we know that. Anyway. Curiosity and compassion. I think it helps to think of them as the child that they are still somewhere in there. To think about how they were hurt and not shaming ourselves for feeling something like pity for that child who was hurt. With some people I think it happens very slowly and they can grow to become more compassionate, with others I think it is just kind of the way it's always been. It can be very alienating. To live your life and truly not understand whatsoever what drives people to be so blind is, well honestly I'm talking out of my ass because I've done it too. And I'm sure I will in the future. See the thing about being compassionate is that it doesn't erase your ability to feel judgment and rage at injustice. It just makes it that much more sad when you know that a person, a tyrant, is too far gone and must be stopped at all costs. I've never been in a fight, but I do know that I have it in me to be moved to a great violence in order to protect. In order to at least do my best I suppose. And so that's really what I wanted to say I guess, is that empathy is, as I have learned it, not quite the hero we think it is. Empathy does not move a person to act. Empathy focuses another person's pain onto yourself. Empathy can be very selfish. Compassion and curiosity on the other hand shift the focus back onto the person who ought to be the focus. We think of ourselves in the position as the one who can help them, not the one who would become them. They don't need another person to feel what they're feeling, they need somebody who can come from a new and different place in order to get them out of that, or perhaps just to sit there with them and listen. It is 2:00 in the morning, we sleep schedule is super messed up. I'm gonna go post memes on imgur, I just wanted to say all that i guess. Also I've never heard of your channel but I'm gonna sub

You never know until you know, and once you know it, it will change you and your expectations forever. This is real and can be real, but you have to search for it in an ocean of people who want this but don't truly look for it.

Something about A list is that where I live, in California, the ONLY tier that’s available is the most expensive one. I think it’s worth it for me but it is something to take into consideration if you live in California.

I remember when Ridley Scott kept trying to insist that Prometheus wasn't a prequel to Aliens series. This is pretty much like that. Although the Shape of Water is through Fox Searchlight, so I don't think del Toro will ever admit it without legal ramifications.

I have AMC and I really love it. But the closest is 20 to 30 mins away. And I am moving and the closest to that house will be 40 mins so I am looking for options I love AMC because I do everything through the app, they never charge me anything extra, cancel and immediately have the credit. I can book a movie even if started 10 mins before (is 20 mins trailers) so I like the flexibility

I've had Cinemark for a few years. Yes, you do only get one "free" ticket per month, which can be rolled over. The cool part is you can buy more tickets for less, you get 25% discounts on concessions, you receive rewards points for the money you spend and these add up to earn you 1-3$ off concessions (which can be used WITH the 25% discount)...and the more points you earn the more rewards and coupons you receive. There are also no online/convenience fees. So this is totally worth it for me and my partner

I don’t care want anybody says this movie will forever be a classic that is 💯 times better than any other marvel out there. No matter what critics say real marvel & blade fans know the truth that this movie is a blemish on marvel and Disney because they don’t know how to recreate the magic in blade which there are trying to pull of in there marvel movies today

Can you please stop using those ugly AI pictures in the background I don't know why you use it since you could easily find stock images And it's not even that the AI pictures look good most if not all of them are heavily distorted and downright gross looking and that sucks because the rest of the video is perfectly fine
