This is prime Dream Theater. Still has that raw rock n' roll vibe, with the standard DT finesse all in one.

Holy s*** I believe I was there. I was in love with opeth. Awkwardly interacted with them in the parking lot. Their English was bad then. I was so starstruck. I had a joint in my pocket but I was too nervous to remember to offer it to them.

Opeth came to Las Vegas for the first time in 2003 and strangely enough, drummer Martin Lopez approached me in the parking lot and asked if I had a joint. I wasn't even a smoker, ha. He explained he needed one for his anxiety and eventually found something.

I caught that tour in Chicago at the Hard Rock late April 2001. Opeth was awesome- I became a lifelong fan that night and bought Blackwater Park the next day. Nevermore came on after them and destroyed- one of only two times they headlined in Chicago. 🤘

38:25 this is the greates part of their discohraphy. And this strat tone in the solo with mikael’s young vocals is sooo emotional to me. Feeling so lucky this is existing.

Haha so funny to see them murder their own song, Lopez is out of rhythm most part of it, Akerfelds solo is horrible. Still, nice to see this :) Vocals are fantastic though.

Where is Aekerfeldt's solo horrible? Sounds spot on.

Awesome to know Opeth was one of the bands in the running order lineup of bands of the same day Marduk performed.

Like the realness of this video compared to these released later . You can hear some drumming mistakes but the drumming has a lot of dynamic in tone and doesn't sounds rerecorded . Vocal here is the best in Opeth's history...
