IMHO, Jack was not capable of resisting. He was basically assimilated before he was born. Not to mention, Deanna opened the door to the Borg Queen (a door he he kept closed all his life and did NOT want to open) and ran off and left him there alone with her. I think 3x9 was not really written well.

I can agree with that. However, he should bare some consequences for his actions. And I can see Beverly come and save the day.

Remember, Beverly grew up on a failed colony, one where they had to use plants for medicine. We rarely see her ass-kicking side in TNG, but it's there. Wesley was the child she bore during her (relatively safe, post-scarcity civilized time) Starfleet years. Jack was born during her back-to-the basics/survival time. She couldn't afford to shelter him the way she sheltered Wesley. (She would definitely have executed Vadic in that room.) "A PIRATE, a thief, and a spy." I imagine that Jack could get a positronic matrix, since they're no longer illegal. (Poor Thad, Deanna, Kestra and Will)

Picard grew up in a very old fashioned home - no replicators. He loves the 20th century Dixon Hill, he's something of a romantic (if completely commitment phobic.).

This episode is special to me. I was visiting my parents one weekend and saw this was on TV. My Dad came in and started watching it. That was surprising as he isn't a Star Trek fan. At the end, he commented how this reminded him of sci-fi movies when he was a boy. So we got to enjoy it together.

It's annoying how many fans try to push these narratives: Jack was a bad guy, she was only fond of him and married him because Picard rejected her, Wesley is JL's son... Argh. I am a P/C shipper, but ALL the evidence implies she loved Jack deeply. And that NEITHER of them would have betrayed him!

This was a great interview! I love Gates! Doctor Crusher is my favorite character aside from Picard and I love X-Men too and was so excited when I found out she was Mother Askani! Also, coincidentally I live in Moreno Valley too, nice to have more Crusher fans in this area.

Working in the military and in a jail, this could and would absolutely happen. Someone that is high ranking working in a private office would be able to pass out, from sleep or whatever without anyone noticing. The lower rank people would be doing their jobs with the goal of not having to get the boss unless absolutely necessary.

@@crusherconvo This was from Season 3 when Beverly had a serious drinking problem that no one really talked about. When the medical staff saw her fave-down on her desk, they'd usually just let her "sleep it off." Trust me -- you did NOT want to wake her up when she's had that much! 😮
