What is the battery life on that? What % power were you riding at? Very curious. Did you have to change batteries every lap? Did it keep overheating? May a follow up video just explaining the ins and outs of riding this EV in a hare scramble. Great video.
@shawnclark568 ай бұрын
Battery life for Mark, a 60+ A rider is about an hour. I am getting about 35 min out of a battery. So yes we are changing batteries every lap. Mark has a patent pending quick change battery system that allows the battery changes to be done in about 8 seconds. This model in this video is a prototype and does not have the quick change battery system. However, we were still changing batteries in under 30 seconds which is great. Honestly, this bike is just so fun to ride, I don't mind giving up a little time in the pits. It is so easy to ride, I actually can it ride it much longer without the fatigue. This race was 2 hours and 15 min and I felt totally fine at the end. On my gas bike I would have been exhausted. Instant smooth power makes the bike so user friendly. The power is always right where you need it. They are definitely the future. They will only get better and I believe they are already superior to gas bike technology.

Nice! Does the controller have some kind of auto-shutoff at a certain temp? If so, would it be worth spending a few amps to run a small electric fan on one of the radiators, and program it to come on at 10 or 15 degrees below the shutoff temp?
@shawnclark568 ай бұрын
These two weekends are the first time we've experienced overheating. We will get that sorted this summer during testing.
@XEMX.8 ай бұрын
@@jameslaguardia2709 Yes it does. The water pump and any thing you want to connect is controlled by the controller. You can also set the trigger temp to whatever you want. We could bump it up a bit.

Hello from France. Last year, it seems to me on the same race, you had to change the battery much more quickly. Are you still in the testing phase?
@shawnclark568 ай бұрын
Yes. These are new batteries that have a longer run time but the quick connect has not been engineered just yet. Plus this was the first time riding this specific bike so we wanted to check temp and battery life on the first stop. Also the cell phone which I use to monitor battery life, temp, mode, etc didn't reconnect initially when we swapped the battery so we were trying to get that working. These are easy fixes but just part of the learning process to make this bike even better.
