I guess api has to make it a whole lot more work than the R6 from Rupert Neve

super intéressant ! Mais j aurais aimé voir les différents réglages et paramétrés des pré amp, pour avoir une idée. Merci pour cette video test!👍

Im gonna be the oddball. I like the punch of the d6. But then, I also liked the open tone of the beta 57. If I had those 2 mics here, I would use them BOTH and blend them till it gave me what I wanted. Presently, I'm using a cheap Peavey PVM321 kick mic on my floor tom. It sounds punchy but with full bottom end. I've yet to find a mic I like better on my 14 tom. It outperformed my sm57, my sm58, and even the senhieser 421 I borrowed for a session. A friend of mine reccomended the Heil PR40 on floor. Im not surprised. I own a pair of Heil PR31BW that I use as overheads. I love them.

This is a pretty cool video. Thanks for doing this. All three sound amazing, but here's what I'm hearing for the three I'm looking at... 1073 - sounds a little darker. This could be cool for folk style records or something with only acoustic and vocals? You could eq, but it could even be a bit muddy if you combined it with another acoustic or other instruments. Still sounds really nice either way. 512c - sounds really clean and transparent. Probably would work well for mainstream stuff and songs with a lot of tracks? It still brings out a lot of the nice tone of the acoustic without adding the darkness of the 1073. Solo 612 - really sounds good to me. It brings out a lot of the guitar's nice tone and liveliness without being too dark. This is probably my favorite, but I go back and forth between all three for different reasons. The 512c sounds a little thin sometimes after listening to the Solo 612, but maybe the thinner sound could be good for dense mixes? Thanks again for the video!

Great job! Looks really pro. Where did you soure the timber from? It looks like it's just what I'm looking for but I can't find timber specialists who stock boards of adequate size. Studio looks great too.

Thank you - I bought the timber from Bunnings! Lots of different timber options in conveniently sized panels!

The strummed chords sounded clearer and less washy over the 1073. For picked guitar, the low end response from the API was very convincing, but it struggled with strummed chords, due to its loose time response.. Both Sytek and UA equally struggled to reproduce chords with sufficient tightness.

Thanks for the video. Comparisons like is are usually more effective when the different options are cut closer together using shorter segemnets so the differences are more apparent.

really funny for me, I used to own three of those all at once, my first rig of "good stuff." I thought the sytek fell behind a bit in this comparison. All the other three were completely favorable. I really like that microphone too, I have been looking for a good acoustic guitar mic. Might try those MC930.

One thing I encountered with rack toms when I heard a problem it was actually the overhead mic...So when recording drums keep in mind all the mics and their placement.
