Update a couple years later The cams were shimmed too tight and threw the tolerances out when hot Quick fix once the shop figured it out

I bought a 21 rr 430 doing exactly the same thing. It still has low hours. I removed the green thing on gas cap and took out evap canister. Still won’t start when hot. I have to wait at least a minute. Did you ever find any resolution to this?
@rocketj74492 жыл бұрын
Painful watching you go down so much😬
@Fatboybart2 жыл бұрын
I had a similar issue on one off my Ktms fuel pump wasn’t making enough pressure. So it would take a minute to build pressure to start. Any hard sudden throttle and it would stall the bike and take a minute to start to build pressure for the injector to work properly.

Look at your reflector connection. Should be on the front, left side of your frame by the nxt. There should be a black plastic looking thing. The connector comes loose bc the wire harness is to tight. I put a zip tie around mine to hold it in place. Worth a check

My battery connections are know to come loose but mine is an older 390. Has similar issues. I went through and dielectric greased everything. Also check you regulator/rectifier connection as sometimes they back out on the newer ones and I’ve seen a few resort to zip ties to keep it always in check. Happy beta’ing.

I had taken it back to the shop and they took a look at the valves Seem they were in spec but on the tighter side so they adjusted them to the other end of the specs and it starts much better 2nd 3rd turn now instead of this when it’s was hot. Currently still haven’t removed the green cap on the inside of my gas cap but I might and see if it’s any different. I would hope it gets quicker and quicker to start over the months ahead Currently at 12 hours
@Vanderkitten2 жыл бұрын
Hopefully you’ve now removed the green cap of problems. It’s only there to meet EPA evap and cause a host of issues.

Hey Adam, thanks for your time and effort, to make these videos. I live in Florida in the U.S. and the places you ride are similar, to the places I ride. Sugar sand when it hasn't rained in a while and swamp lands when it has. I have a WR250R, geared as low as it will go and still be able to connect to the trails, but, looking for a second bike, that is a real dirt bike. I love the WR, but it's heavy and lacks power, to loft the front wheel off ground, without clutching it. Contacted a dealer, for his thoughts and he says, most people get either the 390 or 500, for the RRS model line and said the 390, was a sweet bike. I am about 210 pounds, on a good day and like to go hard. Could you tell me your thoughts, on the 430 and why it may be a better choice, than the 390 or 500, if of course, that's what you would choose, if you had the decision to make. It seems the 430, would be a good fit for me, but still not sure. I care nothing about the dual sort aspect of the bike, other than it has a plate on it. I don't think, I would be able to attend, Beta's Demo Tour. Thanks for your time and yours or anyone's help, would be greatly appreciated.

i wouldn't go bigger than the 430 there's no need to be honest the 350-390-430 is all anyone will need i don't drag race and most the time i don't like going any faster than i like to fall off at lol. any of these bikes i bet 100% you cant go wrong they have shifted the crank back on all these models and feel even lighter n more nimble than before. the 430 likes to be clicked up before the higher revs and 2nd/3rd gear and lugged most the time. The 350 has a better mid range and likes a bit more rev which i enjoy as well. honestly bugger it get a 390 lol
@Zw1d3 жыл бұрын
Lol I guess we are quite similar as I always wanted to have WR250R but have RR 430 xD I can't say which of these bike is the right choice, I have only ridden Xtrainer 250 (sweet), EXC-F 350 (feels like a toy compared to 430) and my 430. I weigh little over 100kg fully equipped and would think that 430 was even too much for my kind of regular riding, until I went to Romania and faced some serious mountains. Only then I knew why 430 is the right bike for me and has enough power to get me everywhere.
@autismion3 жыл бұрын
Seems like the 390 has more torque down low than the 430 though. Longer stroke. Would be interesting to see dyno charts
@mkunakoff3 жыл бұрын
I have a 21 430 rr-s there is no green valve on the gas cap. You should remove the charcoal canister that is designed to capture the fuel vapors. Follow the hose on the gas cap down near the rear shock. Take that thing out!!! Then vent wherever you want.

Seems to be flooded :D. But in all seriousness. I've found the starter button can be the issue where the contacts aren't well contacting. Give it a knock with a spanner. Other than that. My starter motor exploded. So it would start every now and then; then it just wouldn't start at all.
@nick48723 жыл бұрын
I have a 2020 390 that did this sometimes when I first got it. I found that my fuel tank vas not very venting correctly. I removed the green valve from the fuel cap and it seemed to improve. Also, try a stepper motor reset. Start the bike and run it until the fan comes on without touching the throttle. Then shut it off and restart it before riding. Let me know if this works.
@adamdoig14483 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks I’ll try the green valve. And have a look at the stepper motor. What about a better battery one with a bit more punch?

Did you try any of the other Betas? I have a 430 that I found used for a good price a couple years ago and always wonder which one I would buy if I actually had the choice. I'm quite happy with my 430 regardless! Cheers from Canada.
@adamdoig14483 жыл бұрын
Bro I hear ya After riding this bike I’ve gone and asked them to put one aside for me. The more I read into it the more I wanna try the 350/390 out. Currently riding a 2017 sxf350 on the trails so riding this bike I fell in love straight away. There was a 200 for demo this day but I’m more of a 4T rider these days. Now that you have the 430 do you notice any reason to have a 350/390 ? Personally I only rev out on the mx track which isn’t that often anyway.
@JonOrchard3 жыл бұрын
@@adamdoig1448 no real reason for me to need anything else at all. I usually ride forest single track and I'm old (43) so I don't hit the mx track but do like that it revs quickly on more open terrain. My friend had a 390 which was great on hill climbs but apparently didn't rev up as quick. The 430 has been a good bike for me... But ya always wonder a bit, you know? I guess something a bit lighter would be slightly better but I'm not good enough to notice very much difference in their handling as it would relate to gyroscopic effect of a larger piston.
@Zw1d3 жыл бұрын
high five man, I also have used 430, there was no choice at the time I was buying. I was also a complete novice (ridden only 125cc 4t beta for 4 months before buying 430), so there was the "whoa, that's a lot of bike", but I'm perfectly fine by now. 430 is great, tons of power, but I wish I could try 390, I've heard so many good things.
