So kita still means 'you'? If I say mahal kita, I am just saying "love you" and the love is happening toward the 'you' which is the person you're saying it to, right? If I said mahal kita, there's no "I" in the sentence? It's obvious the I is me... so sometimes in English instead of "I love you" we can just say "love you" and it still makes sense because obviously it's my (I) love being sent to the object (kita) you

"when the student is ready, the teacher will appear." I've been wanting to learn Filipino for years now so that I can speak more fluently with my Filipino in-laws, but I've had a hard time finding resources online to do so. I have basic and important words and phrases down but want to be more conversational. Today I found your videos after thinking "maybe I'll try KZbin again" and when I saw your long playlist of lessons, I feel like I found a winning lottery ticket. After finishing just this first video I feel so inspired by your way of teaching and I'm so excited to learn more! Maraming salamat po, Ate!! :D

Wow, what an incredibly engaging and informative video! It's more authentic to be able to hear from an actual native speaker. Speaking of learning Tagalog, if you're as eager to explore new horizons as I am, I recommend you check out Ling, Memrise and Mondly. They're fantastic language learning tools and perfect for anyone looking to master a new language at their own pace.

So nouns are marked by 'ang' usually. So if an adjective is usually before a noun, we just attach ng onto the end of the adjective instead of using 'ang' all by itself. But if its ending in a consonant then we use na. Is that why we affix ng onto the end of the proceeding adjective since it comes before a noun?
