There's a lot a demonstration with film composers with relationship with film directors. At the same time, they've done the job with film music over the years. In this moment with the same generation like cool everyday. Like in association with John Williams and Steven Spielberg, Angelo Badalamenti and David Lynch, Howard Shore and David Cronenberg, Alan Silvestri and Robert Zemeckis, Danny Elfman and Tim Burton, David Newman and Danny DeVito, Thomas Newman and Sam Mendes, Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan, Terence Blanchard and Spike Lee and many others. Maybe Angelo Badalamenti was a film music legend. R.I.P. Angelo Badalamenti (1937-2022)

Came here from an article about author Philip K. Dick that mentioned how he hated this so much he begged for this to be turned off after 10 minutes when someone played it for him, saying that it sounded like the inside of his head. I did not last as nearly long!

With his Twin Peaks soundtrack Angelo Badalamenti was my huge inspiration back in the days and still is. Although through all these years I was not paying much attention to his life or what he was up to as a composer. Then the day came when I decided to make a brief research on Internet, just to learn how old Angelo is and, you know, to have a look at this man. Thus I came across with this particular video on KZbin that stunned me as how amazing personality and storyteller Angelo is (that he is a brillian dark music composer I already knew). That was in December 2022. Recently, the other day I've learned that he passed away in December 2022.

The espresso scene is one my favourites. Angelo is the reason I look for reasons to say the word "napkin" in the last 20+ years, and try to say it like him (yes, I amuse myself in such tiny and obscure ways). This is the first time I heard about the original story which inspired Lynch to cast him in that [small] role. Wow, BoB, woW!

I love that Lynch realizes the power of art is bringing the conceptual to the perceptual level. I also love that his art is for him, his standard isn't what he thinks others will enjoy it's about his values/ideas, and he understands that he needs total control to pull off such a task successfully.

This damn movie, I still can’t make narrative sense of it after 5-6 viewings. But everything about it is absolutely mesmerizing, even this music by itself touches me like crazy. Laura is the sexiest creature I’ve ever seen on screen, and Naomi gives the most fascinating performance ever, even better than Meryl Streep. No doubt that’s as much due to Lynch as Naomi. BTW, how about Meryl for Lynch’s last great masterwork ? If he can get Jeremy Irons, he can get anyone. That’d be a doozy ! Now, one more thing - There’s sometimes a buggy ...
