I try to limit the intake of on-line news to first thing in the morning with coffee, and then a quick browse in the afternoon. I watch the 5 o’clock local news on TV, and maybe some national news at 6:00 if there’s breaking news. Otherwise I turn to books. Good ol’ fashion turning the pages of history. Learn from the past. And, some fiction thrown in for pure entertainment.

Sometimes I think that life, in general, seems to have been better before the digital age, pre-internet, pre-cell phones. Unplugging and stepping away from it all can do wonders for the soul.

Well, to be fair one of the main reasons we HAD flip phones when we did, is because the designers of Said Phones Watched Star Trek and said.. "Yeah I Want that." This was a pipe dream technology that inspired it's own creation.
@jamesslick47902 ай бұрын
They also used to shove colorful squares in to computers on Star Trek. I'm sure that the 3.5" multi-color floppy disks were inspired by Star Trek!

No doubt in my mind that "flip phones" were inspired by Star Trek!

They were more like satellite phones, but even better, because it could reach the Enterprise in orbit on the other side of the planet. Unless there was interference from The Plot.

Bear in mind this series was filmed 10 years before one could have a phone in one's car, let alone on one's person - and that's even leaving aside the flip-technology. It's actually amazing the level of technological advancement we've made in the last 100 years but that we now take for granted.

I would suggest it be ‘The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Music Museum’. The foundation should continue to be rock and roll, with special emphasis on the classic bands and artists, such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis, Chuck Berry, etc.

Commercials are too long as well. Most of them are goofy like you said, and nothing to do with the product. Advertisers should adopt the concept of ‘less is more’.
