I so wish to be back in Japan....I visited twice in 2023.(from UK)...and it was the only time I have felt alive since losing my partner to cancer in 2017....There were times though when I did feel very down (when in Kyoto)..But I feel it's because I so didn't want to be there alone..wishing my partner was with me. Since returning, all I can think about is wanting to be back in Japan. I know it has it's problems..like everywhere. But I have a longing to return..a feeling of nostalgia...for a life I have never lived..I stayed in Shibuya for a few days..and loved it!...It felt so alive...Loved watching the world go by at the crossing...was one of my favourite places during my trips.

When it was undercontruction, shibuya cross looked bigger and wilder to me but since everything is finished shibuya cross looks a lot smaller I dont know if its only me. Anyway, the view up top is very nice and best when it sunsets.

I just got back from a 10 day trip in japan. The post travel depression is hitting me so hard. Tokyo is just such a beautiful city to look at.

Many of these modern Asian cities put me in mind of the Los Angeles of Blade Runner (1982), but with substantially less pollution (and no mention of 'Off World', which remains beyond our 2024 capacity).
